I sure as fuck hope so.

by TBRMKane on May 21, 2009 5:00 PM PDT reply actions

Who’s getting released / demoted? I hope it’s Aurilia. But I doubt it. Velez?

by xanthan on May 21, 2009 5:02 PM PDT reply actions

It might be, considering that Uribe will come back too.

Of course, knowing the Giants it will turn out to be Ishikawa and Frandsen. But still, a boy can hope.

I’m guessing Velez/Frandeson down, Uribe and Jesus in. Of course, that still leaves Torres without a spot.

he’s expected in San Diego tonight

by Merope on May 21, 2009 5:16 PM PDT up reply actions

He said he could get a late inning pinch hit tonight

by superk1ng on May 21, 2009 5:17 PM PDT up reply actions

no mention of who got sent down / put on the DL / DFA’d though

by Merope on May 21, 2009 5:17 PM PDT up reply actions

More notes from Sabean on KNBR

Guzman is up mostly to pinch hit, some dh in Seattle.

Bowker will split his time between 1st base and right field now that Guzman is up.

Fred’s got more bunion troubles.

Schierholz to see more time in right with Winn in left.

Ishikawa’s great defensively but not so much with the bat – he may sit more and come in as a late inning, defensive replacement.

Regarding Adam Dunn: We didn’t want to see him playing right field [for us] in our ball park.

by Merope on May 21, 2009 5:19 PM PDT reply actions

Regarding Adam Dunn: We didn’t want to see him playing right field [for us] in our ball park.

Good. Because he would have been fine at 1B.

by xanthan on May 21, 2009 5:22 PM PDT up reply actions

After all those lazy fly balls he hit last year, he probably wouldn’t have wanted to come here anyway.

by Natto on May 21, 2009 5:28 PM PDT up reply actions

This is indeed definitive proof that he wouldn’t play for the Giants.

Oh no. That would mean a lot more of Rich Aurilia starting.

by SFGuy on May 21, 2009 5:23 PM PDT up reply actions

No, I think he means that Guzman will play there.

by Merope on May 21, 2009 5:25 PM PDT up reply actions

On your first sentence, you said mainly to pinch hit. So I would assume it’s Aurilia at first unless they will go with the Uribe at 3rd and Pablo at 1st.

by SFGuy on May 21, 2009 5:33 PM PDT up reply actions

Aurilia’s been worse that T-Ish, though. That’s the main reason for Jesus to be called up.

by tyrannoman on May 21, 2009 5:34 PM PDT up reply actions

Guzman will be available tonight and DH tomorrow at Seattle. He will get some work at 1B after that.

From here.
