Cheap 1B solution?
I know about Guzman, but Fox is doing better and actually has the ability to take a walk. Just a thought

His K/BB ratio in AAA last year was 2/31 in 117 at-bats, which is…wow. He’s hitting well this year, but he’s not a good bet to sustain anything and produce immediately. I’d rather that the Cubs get excited about Fox and trade us Micah Hoffpauir for Osiris Matos, or something. A Guzpauir platoon would give us dingerz! And 4,000 strikeouts. But dingerz!
Jake Fox’s defense was described by a scout (via Callis) as “a notch above horrific.” Future DH, no thanks.

I had the same thought and got the chance to watch him play twice this weekend (I live in Salt Lake City). He was the DH both days I went to the ball park and that is probably the most telling sign about what the Cubs think of his defense. You would think if they projected him as a legit 1st baseman they would be having him take as many reps there as possible. He has put up video game numbers though!
How about him?
