Always looked forward to his starts

now I look forward to him getting healthy, period, baseball or no. Hopefully he can recover and return on an ML deal one of these springs.

Lowry, I loved you as a player, get well soon

but maybe consider never throwing a ball again. If you want to play catch with the kids, learn to throw right handed (a la Kung Fu Panda). This nerve business is scary, and seem to have spread up his arm to his core. Take your millions and go home. (unless every doctor in the world says you should be okay and I am after all not a doctor or really familiar with Lowry’s condition.)

Is there some reason why they couldn’t resign him after they waive the option? It reads like he’s gone but Noah’s always been a solid guy, I could see him taking the minimum to stay with the Giants and make good. It’s good news that Bonderman and Rogers had the successfully and came back, maybe there’s a chance for Noah.

i always imagined the dialogue in this photo going:
Barry: “Yeah, that over there’s called ‘right field.’”
Noah: “Wait…even though it’s on my left?”
Ort:
Barry: “Aww man…now I’M all messed up…”

His first win is one that I will always remember. One of my favorite nights at the yard. Would love to see him back on a minor league deal.

Probably one of the best games I was ever at -- despite the loss.

I still gotta hold on to a little hope that he’ll be back. So much potential. Baseball or not though, I hope his recovery goes well.

Sad

I had Noah on a fantasy team during one of his hot streaks. Great memories. It seems to me that if he isn’t retiring, the most likely comeback route is via a minor league contract with the Giants. Is anyone here aware of any bad blood regarding how the team has treated him with respect to all the injuries? He may never make it back to the majors but I’m betting we’ll see him again in Minor Lines at some point and I can’t imagine there will be anyone here who won’t be cheering for him.

by NearestNorwich on May 19, 2009 10:11 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I’d like to see us sign him to a minor league contact if he wants to come back… if not, have a great life Noah Lowry, you were a bright spot for the Giants, and one of my favorites.

He was a pretty good pitcher for the Giants in the late 80’s/early 90’s and then all of a sudden he just wasn’t on the team anymore, kind of like Noah.

Anyone know? Did he have arm issues?

I was curious about his last start, so I looked it up – and it looks like it was an ugly one where he gave up 7 runs in 3 innings. Ow!

Oh please. There was nothing stopping him from getting a second opinion at the time. And frankly, an athlete who is about to have surgery should definitely get a second opinion. Even if the Giants’ staff was wrong at the time (and all doctors make mistakes), it’s bad form for Lowery’s agent to come out whining about it now. Why wasn’t he advising his client to seek further medical opinions at the time?

Lowry will have surgery Tuesday to remove a rib in an effort to alleviate pain in his neck and shoulder.

wtf he’s having a rib removed? Scary stuff. I’ve always been a big lowry fan, and I held out hope as long as I could, but I’ve finally reached the point where I’ve completely accepted that he won’t throw another big league pitch. (And that way if he does ever come back, it’ll be great cause I’ll be pleased and surprised at the same time!) Good-bye noah.
