Per Hank:
Frandsen arrived just in time to start on national television at shortstop and bat second. His keystone mate will be Eugenio Velez. Manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday he planned to rest Emmanuel Burriss.
Frandsen did not seem keen about discussing his feelings about his demotion at the end of spring training.
"Maybe that day I didn't handle it the best way by not talking," he said. "I probably wouldn't have done any justice to myself if I had said anything."
Frandsen most played short and batted near the top of the order in Fresno. He said his time their was more bearable because the Grizzlies were winning.
Fred Lewis also will rest today, with Nate Schierholtz starting in his place.
