Your MCC Comment STATS

In the Mets-Giants series preview, Grant said something that, for some reason, got me to reply with an anecdote of Bret Boone in a game at Candlestick in the mid-90s. Then, I said this:

This kind of thing accounts for at least 25% of my comments

Someone says something that vaguely reminds me of an anecdote from years ago. I tell it. Nobody particularly cares. Then, I repeat the same anecdote on five additional occasions.

In a similar vein, how would you break down your McCoven comments? I'll start:

25% As above

5% RUSH SUX

10% Kim Batiste Reference

5% Mark Carreon or Mike Aldrete Reference

15% Food talk

20% Open mockery of others' stupidity

10% Open mockery of my own stupidity

5% Posting of Google Image Search results

5% Attempt at actual intelligent baseball analysis

Unofficial results

I want to think about 50% of my contributions to this blog are minor league/prospect related, in the realm of SRS JRNLSM BZNS. I’ll give that a 5% margin of error.

20% food talk/recipes.

10% puns and running blog jokes including GIS results and rewritten song lyrics to reflect topical humor

10% sarcasm

10% dick jokes, a category unto itself as I make enough lewd jokes to seperate them from the puns/running jokes/GIS/song lyrics stuff.

As I said before, I have something like 17000+ comments on this blog over three years. That’s quite the waste of time. And I’ll do it 17000 more times. Y’all rock.

Boring observations inserted into joke strings ruining fun

It’s interesting to me that on messageboards members are supposed to try to come up with interesting topics for discussion, as a way of supporting the community.

I realize this is a blog and not a messageboard but the assumption seems to be reversed here, so that posters that don’t regularly bombard gameday threads are somehow seen as doing something wrong. I’m not particularly criticizing that view, just noticing it in connection with these types of TAGSNG call-outs.
