This is a really stupid campaign.

I’m pretty sure this was started by Red Sox fans, which means I’d be doing something Red Sox fans like.

No thanks.

Gonna have to agree here.

It’s campaigns like this that’ll get All-Star voting taken away from the fans.

Which would be fantastic...

i adopt Les Plack, D.D.S. for the following reasons:
1. greatest name for occupation ever (except maybe lesbian prostitute sharon bottoms)
2. i am hoping for free dental care from my son (if he ever hears of this)
3. When asked a question about how he felt about Manny being suspended, Les replied "All smiles"

Yeah, because this is such a small metropolitan area with so little access to computers and/or the internet.

well now i’m inclined to do it

by kingofthacove on May 12, 2009 1:08 AM PDT up reply actions

This whole stunt is pretty dickish. How does it do anything other than embarrass Lastings Milledge? Maybe that’s cool for Red Sox fans, but I’d rather have some class and vote for a guy in the majors who is playing well rather than try to embarrass a guy in the minor leagues.

Proud parent of future rookie of the year, Gerald Posey!

So this is kinda bullshit. Can we instead get back at the Red Sox fans by voting only Orioles onto the AL allstar team?

by scout6 on May 10, 2009 8:28 PM PDT reply actions

Absolutely.

I could get into a stunt like this that makes a mockery of the All-Star game, but the whole event is such a stupid sham that I stopped caring about it years ago.

Also, this whole campaign needs more Bend Ya Knees references

by FluLikeSymptoms on May 10, 2009 9:35 PM PDT reply actions

I would do this if he was a...

red sox or yankee, but the nats might not have many AS and this could fill up the nats quota and block someone from going. I do think Zimmerman will get in on his own!

by say hey nation on May 11, 2009 9:08 AM PDT reply actions

The article quotes the campaign as calling the Nationals “the Natinals [not-sic].”

I don’t even know what that’s supposed to mean. I mean, I know what sic means, but Natinals? Huh? And what the hell is “not-sic” supposed to mean? I’m confused.

Ah. “Not-sic” still makes no sense, though. In fact, “sic” means pretty much exactly this.

I actually don’t have a real problem with Yankees fans. They were arrogant and obnoxious when they were winning, but that’s natural. Now they’re humble and hate their team since they’re sucking. Which is normal.

Bruce Bochy would like you to look at the career numbers and stop complaining.

This

Plus if I were a fan of the Yankees right now, living in NYC, I’d be pissed off at the team for charging all that money for seats to watch a crap ballclub. With obstructed views. And the whole stadium/public funds debacle. I can’t say I’d take it lightly if the Giants gave us all the middle finger like that.
