you can’t compare Manny to Pedroia. Pedroia hit .308/.391/.454 in over 1200 minor league plate appearances, 700+ of which were in AA and AAA. Manny had 64 PAs above A+ and he sucked in A+. The Giants’ faith might pay off here, but there isn’t anywhere as much reason to believe Manny will turn things around regardless of how long the team sticks with him.

Why not stick with Burriss?? Giants are unlikely to contend for the title. Let’s see if he could grow and get out of it. If he looks completely overmatched then yes replace him otherwise just stick with him. Maybe give him a day off soon.

By that logic
Why not stick with Bocock?

Bocock WAS overmatched something I don’t really see with Burriss.

but he does look completely overmatched
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.

not as horribly as Bocock
especially his at bats last year.
But that’s not saying much. Bocock should probably be in SJ and Burriss in CT.

No… of course J/K - Burriss will eventually get send down by June, and Frandsen will be given at least 200 ABs to prove he’s a “right now” major leaguer. I’m confident Franny will pull us through to the end of the year….
That is unless we can trade Cain for Uggla.
Sarcasm?

you know, on the other hand
It is not very likely that Burriss would have made it to the majors on a legitimate development path, so maybe the fact that Giants rushed him and made him a major leaguer (no matter how illegitimately) was the only way for DC to get their first major leaguer in 30 years.
