I’m switching over to the SJ Giants game, so if they say anything about Martinez, please post it.

Yeah, I want to hear that he’s fine so I can start enjoying our first series.

Why I Love Matt Cain, Part Eleventy
He just pitched a hell of a great game, got the first win by a Giants starter all year, and I’d bet dollars to donuts that all gives a crap about right now is Joe Martinez.

interesting
Miller did his game review, and then they’ve just talked about Martinez and processed the whole scene, Cameron and his experience, Krukow telling his story, etc.

Evidently Amy was bugging Cameron with questions. Wow.

Granted, I’m sure Amy has some producer in her ear going nuts about how she has to talk to anybody she can. I will say that she seemed extremely uncomfortable talking about it before I switched the broadcast over to comcast 104.

Yeah
I’m sure it’s not entirely her choice, but she is going to be the target.

I don’t remember her asking that… I mean, I don’t remember the interview that well because I was a little annoyed it was even happening, but my memory has Bengie just saying that he didn’t think it was intentional because he was a little shaken and didn’t know what to say.

Eh
I don’t think she really asked him that, I think Bengie got a little confused and thought she did.

Yeah, that’s what I think happened. It’s just another reason they shouldn’t be interviewing the players right now.

Bengie
was just stating that he is sure Cameron didnt purposefully hit a line drive to Joes face. The question was something like “what would you say to Cameron” or something like that

Yea but you just don’t bring things up like that in times like this. You might ask him a few questions, maybe get a quick analysis of how he’s doing, but that’s it.

it was more like
what condolences can you offer to mike cameron?, and bengie started talking about how no one does that type of thing on purpose. i still think it was a stupid question though.
Based on Molina’s reply, it’s certainly the question you would have naturally inferred.

I’m definitely done with her.

Martinez cut and bleeding, alert and awake and on the way for CAT scan; predicting won’t make a trip to SD (which probably surprises no one)

Weird
Most somber, low-key, post-game wrap after a Giants win ever.
My plans for 2009: getting married and attending Tim Lincecum Bobblehead Day.
I was listening on the radio in the car
At first I was worried that he was going to be hurt. Then, when I found out he got hit on the head, I was worried that he was going to be hurt.
Best wishes, Joey.

I actually enjoy listening to him since I think he's amusing

I hope Joe is okay. I bet we’ll see him back soon. I concussed myself unconscious last summer in a bicycle crash, and after an MRI and overnight observation I was pretty much good to go (except for my broken elbow and scraped up face/brow.) He was pitching great and I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of Joe Martinez.
Cain looked great, until he lost the zone in the 7th, but he found it again and got out of the inning. He was really snapping off his curve (and sneaking them in for 1st strikes) and his fast ball was live and targeted. He really pitched well considering how many times the leadoff guy got on base. At least he didn’t walk the pitcher to lead off an inning. Parra must have been getting pointers from Cy Young Winner™ Zito.
It seemed like Randy Winn and Fred Lewis were never out. Nice plays by both in the outfield – covering some ground, and not breaking the wrong way. And Mouthpiece Panda looked pretty good at Third today.
co-dad of IshikaBOOM w/AfDC.
Ishikawa, let the boy hit against lefties.
Great game until that sad ending. Almost as good as the win was the fact that Rich Aurilia was so amazingly bad that Ishi is sure to get the next start or two against left handed pitching!
Proud new dad of Edgardo errr Edgar Renteria!!!
My thoughts as well...
Probably won’t be long until Richie is in the clubhouse as a coach or something. Ishikawa will be starting every day pretty soon as long as he keeps it up. I hate to say it, but it’s true.
it's on mlb.com too

Great game. Cain looked great.
Affeldt was very good as well. He did not throw more than 1 ball to the 3 batters he faced. Atta boy son.

Yikes.
I was at the game – right behind the plate (swooped some seats) for this moment…..all I can say is O-U-C-H
God Bless J. Martinez and M. Cameron both – they are victims of chance and both seem to be very nice fellows.
Aside – lets not rosterbate about who is the next pitcher left off the 25 man roster for a week or two, eh?

Two Golden State Warriors in attendance
Rony Turiaf and Biedrens were in attendance. And they were sitting with the fans (near the Giants bullpen)as opposed to being in the rich Club Level. The vendors allowed Turiaf to break one of the rules. He was alllowed to buy 3 beers rather then the two max although Turiaf was buying for other people.
First off. I got home just in time for the top of the ninth, was listening to the game in the car on the way home. Turned on the tv, and the first batter I saw Joey face was Cameron. I stopped what I was doing and just sat there for a bit until they took him off the field.
Thoughts are with him for a speedy recovery, they are saying its a concussion and they are keeping him overnight for observation. Can’t wait for him to be back in the Orange and Black.
Secondly, Yay Cain wins! I hope this is the start of many for the season.
Too much bad news in one day!
First the tragic news about Nick Adenheart. Then Joey Martinez gets hit in the head. That was really scary… I almost started crying when that happened. It seems like he’s OK now, though…
