Question about rainout
I admit that i very rarely attend games, but i bought tickets (a while ago) for tonight's game. Is it too late to get anything for a game that's gonna either have crap weather or be rained out. If it is rained out, any ideas of when the make up game would be? If i go and have extra tickets, what are my chances of selling them for a loss outside of the ballpark?

I would think, since this is the only time the Brewers are in town, they will do everything possible to get the game in.
We went prepared on Opening Day with several water/wind proof layers, an umbrella, and a change of clothes in the car.
Since nothing much is going on tonight – it’s not Opening Day / Opening Night, no Cy Young ceremonies, AND the weather might be bad… I’m guessing it’d be tough to sell tickets – but this is merely a guess.

you won’t have any trouble selling them outside the park for face value. just don’t do it within sight of the Cops. be cool and refrain from selling them to scalpers.

I don’t think it’s illegal to sell your tickets at face value.

one would hope so. but I’m not sure about it. i think the giants actively discourage it, in favor of their own ticket exchange program.

thanks Hackman..
i’ve always wondered why selling your tix on the street is not allowed. i mean, i understand that the giants would rather sell someone an unsold ticket rather than let me sell ones i can’t use, but isn’t it kind of crazy that i don’t have the right to sell it at face value?
aside from the cops issue, what’s the problem with selling my tix to scalpers — is it just because they’d give me less for them than someone else would?
some of us will indeed go, but my 3 & 5 yr olds and my wife are fair weather baseball fans..

scalpers will pay you less than face value and then sell your tickets for way more than face value.
Scalpers will also sell you non-game-day tickets if you’re not careful.
Avoid doing bizness with scalpers. bad for everyone except scalpers.

i know i know
i probably shouldn’t buy from them…
but there were several occasions last season when i got tix from scalpers for below face value. They’ve already bought the tickets, often at a discount, so in the end, they want to move the tickets. They’ll even work with you to find seats you want.
Obviously it’s going to depend on the specific game, and I’d watch out for the guys with the print-out tickets, but my experience hasn’t been 100% negative.
I do hate it when people sell to scalpers when there is someone bargaining with the scalper right there.

Scalpers
If you you don’t mind missing the first inning or two, they can give you a good deal. At that point they are usually looking to just rid themselves of the tickets, and you can get them at less than face-value.

So when will we know
if tonight is a rainout? Where should I be looking for the notification?

With as flakey as the weather can be, I think that’s usually a game time decision. It was supposed to rain and thunder on Opening Day and it was actually quite nice, though windy, up where we were in View Reserved. I’m sure they will try really hard to get the game in.

It Rained.
But not much.
Not much at all.
Hope this didn’t keep any fans from making the game – as it was a great one.
Peace.
