Pablo Sandoval, Catcher
Interesting piece over at BtBS about the measurables for catchers defense. Sandoval rates out pretty well against his minor league prospect peers. Some guy named Matt Wieters is also pretty good. Sandoval's ranks in this group:
SB%: 6th
Attempts/Inning: 1st
SB/Inning: 3rd
PB/Inning: 4th
So, teams didn't run on him, and when they did, he made them pay for it. In addition, he was great at blocking pitches. I really hope, if Posey isn't ready yet, that Pablo is our starting catcher in 2010.

What other scenario can you imagine?

One-year contract to a useless veteran. It’s the Giants Way.

Basically what was listed above by Azmanz and jcb9. The Giants just don’t seem to think he can catch. At least, that’s the impression I’ve been getting.

Proud father of Juan Carlos Perez. Think Albert Pujols at second.

I actually think Posey will be ready by then. I expect big things from him in the minors this season
