AccuScore Predictions
I'm really not sold on the whole Dodgers having 93 wins thing, but 84-78 would be great for the Giants. And AccuScore is reasonably good at predictions.

2010 is our breakout season
If the Giants went go 84-79 this season, this rebuilding project would be ahead of schedule as far as I’m concerned
Wall-E for Best Picture 2008
I’d be extremely happy with 84-79, especially since 163 games implies that they’d be involved in a playoff game for the division title.
I was THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME (for 3 days in 1995).

says NL west is the worst division in baseball, then projects 3 winning records and all teams with fewer than 90 losses. okay sure
"he walked 18; new league record! Struck out 18, another new league record! He also hit the sportswriter, the PA announcer, the bull mascot twice..."

Giants 88-74. Don’t believe anything else you read. They WILL scratch together enough runs for this superb pitching staff.
Proud new dad of Edgardo errr Edgar Renteria!!!
WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH RXM?
Randy Winn is going to catch that. And he'll do it real classy-like too.
our starting pitcher will usually be better than their starting pitcher. That’s half the battle the way I see it. Assuming Affeldt and Howry fix the bullpen problem from last year, the lead they will usually have should be protected. I have now read enough from people in the know, (GM’s, owners and scouts) to think that the Giants’ will be able to address their offensive deficiencies as the year goes on.

I mean if you can’t be optimistic and excited the weekend before the regular season starts, (we haven’t lost a game yet!) when can you be optimistic?

Shenanigans!!
The Bums finishing 11 games ahead of the DBacks?!?! Are they foreseeing plague that only hits the Phoenix area?!?! At the same time Furcal is healthy 150 + games and Billingsly & Kershaw log 30 starts of 8 innings or more?
Also if the Padres aren’t 90+ loss team this season they got very lucky and stumbled upon a couple new super stars.
R. Ortiz is not the Run Dingerz.exe we are looking for.
BPro loves the Dodgers’ pitching staff as well.

I really don’t see it. Kuroda is the Opening Day starter and Randy Wolf goes day two. Yes, Billingsley is a stud but he is coming back from a broken leg and a spring training groin problem, and Kershaw and McDonald both had ERA’s over 5.00 this spring. Jonathan Broxton is going to blow alot of saves this year, and while the offense is way better than ours, it’s hardly great. I think they’re better than us, but not by a helluva lot.

I’m with you here. Down the road those arms will to be trouble. Yet to think they are all, or almost all, going to come out of gate with years like they are already been in the leauge for 4 years or so is just a tad beyond unreasonible. It could happen but then , in theory, the giants could have 6 hitters with better then 340 wOBA as well.
R. Ortiz is not the Run Dingerz.exe we are looking for.
If you're going to break out the whole "young pitcher" thing
Then you’d have to be nearly as worried about the Giants’ rotation.
VAE PVTO DEVS FIO
why? The two starters I’m referring to in the Dodgers’ rotation are completely unproven. There’s nobody in the Giants’ rotation that fits that description. Would I love to have Kershaw? Of course, but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to join the elite just yet.

Johnson’s back, Sanchez’s injury history, Lincecum and Sanchez both up against the Verducci line (ie: upped their IP by more than 30 last season).
VAE PVTO DEVS FIO
No Doubt there are reasons to worry about the Giants starters. But then no one around here is saying this a rotation that wins 90+ games or finishes 11 games up on the Dbacks. It a matter of scale.
R. Ortiz is not the Run Dingerz.exe we are looking for.
No one is sayying those things because the Giants have nothing other than a rotation.
The Dodgers have a good lineuip, rotation, and pen, (and probably defense as well, but I’m only saying this because the Giants D look so bad). Even if none of those aspect will blow you away, it’s alot easier to build a good team when no one part is sabotaging the whole.
VAE PVTO DEVS FIO
fair enough.
And even if the Giants had a very good Defense or a formidable “O” and people were saying such things I would throwing cold water on that premise as well.
R. Ortiz is not the Run Dingerz.exe we are looking for.
Uh, so I added the percentages...
and there is a 100.1% chance that a NL team will win the NLCS.

It’s a 33.3% chance, according to my adding.

I just don’t buy that the Dodgers are “one of the best teams in the National League”.
