11 Spots Left For The McC/SFD San Jose Giants Game on May 3rd
Sorry for the spam, but I'm going to repost this, hopefully to get the last few tickets sold for those who want to come at the (relatively) last minute! We have 13 spots left as of Tuesday Afternoon!
***Original Post Below***
You are cordially invited to join readers from San Francisco Dugout Online Magazine, McCovey Chronicles and GiantsBoard.com to watch the prospect-laden San Jose Giants take on the Modesto Nuts on Sunday, May 3rd! We have arranged for 40 fans to join us on the Martinelli's VIP Deck at Municipal Stadium in San Jose.
EDIT (And sorry I didn't post this originally): The game is scheduled for a 2:05 start. The BBQ opens at 12:30 to start getting food.
For $38 per ticket, you will receive:
• Game Ticket for the Private, Field Level Deck.
• Personal Group Server for food and drinks.
• Full BBQ Meal from Turkey Mike's BBQ, including two beverages.*
• Scorecard and Baseball Bingo card for the chance to win prizes throughout the game.
Of course, you also get the privilege of watching the Giants' top prospects taking the field before they become major league stars. Watch Buster Posey, Nick Noonan, Brandon Crawford, Roger Kieschnick, Conor Gillaspie, Thomas Neal, Darren Ford, and Michael Ambort** as the San Jose Giants try to close out the decade with their fourth California League Championship in ten years!
If the Giants do not change their rotation or promote anyone, SFDugout.com #3 Giants Prospect Tim Alderson is predicted to start this game!**
To take advantage of this offer, click here! (Link Fixed)
SPACE IS LIMITED; FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED!
Tickets must be reserved by Sunday, April 26th.
* No saving your two beverages for the Beer Batter to get four beers. Nice try, though!
** Actual lineup subject to the whim of San Jose Giants Manager Andy Skeels and the San Francisco Giants Front Office. SFDugout.com, nor any website this invitation is on, are responsible for the duly deserved yet untimely promotions of any top prospects; However, in return, you will get to see the next unknown who will grow into a prospect and you can say "I was there when no one knew his name..." That's a fair trade.

Is Tim really pitching on Sunday??
So I don’t actually keep up with the minors that much, and I have trouble finding info about it because the sjgiants.com site sucks. So, something might have changed since I last checked… but I thought they have a 6-man rotation down there and that there’s an off-day tomorrow… so wouldn’t that mean that Tim pitches on Monday? Or are they going to skip whoever would have pitched tomorrow? If anyone knows the answer, I’d love to know because I think I’m gonna go down to San Jose for my first ever minor league game on Monday night. Also, could you tell me where you found out from? Thanks!
by sfgiantsgirl on Apr 29, 2009 12:20 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Alderson was originally scheduled to be starting Sunday, but if the rumors are true, he and Bumgarner may be in Connecticut by that time.

Probably Tanner or Alderson
Its really a crapshoot
6 man rotation
30th is an off day
Who knows
They may skip Odle in which case Alderson will go Sunday (if not promoted)
It they don’t skip anyone, it would be Clayton Tanner… a top 30 Prospect in his own right
Alderson would be cool, but (barring promotions) get Posey, Villalona, Crawford, Gillaspie, Neal, Quiche-Neck, Noonan…..maybe Queer-Art-Ayyy….
And you can still hound Alderson and Bumgarner for Autos in postgame

I Have Been Informed...
If tonight’s game is rained out, Sunday’s will be a Double-Header (Sorry, still no Bumgarner, but you’ll still get Alderson). As I post, the game is still expected to be played, however. Weather.com is predicted 60-70% chances of rain for tonight. Keep in mind, the season opener was played in a fairly steady light rain/drizzle.
As far as what’d happen with a rainout Sunday, I don’t have that info yet. I will pass it along once I find out. If people bought a ticket and can’t make it to a makeup, however, I will certainly make sure things are taken care of and any refunds that need to be made will be done.

Basic news on the rainout is that we can work out either a rescheduling or refund if the game is rained out. Since I have control on the individual tickets, in the more likely case of rescheduling things, I can refund individuals who can’t make the new game.

Today’s was a bit of a rough day for us – I had an emergency room visit this morning and have cellulitis in my foot, so I’m in a lot of pain and am hobbling about. My son missed his nap, and was on the verge of thermonuclear meltdown all afternoon as a result, I spent about half the game running after him, and got to actually watch about four innings – and I barely got to even say hi to people.
Still, it was nice to make it out to the park and get to see folks, however briefly. I just hope y’all don’t think I’m the world’s most antisocial miscreant now. I know there’s been talk of another outing later in the year – I’m hoping it’ll be at a time when my grandmother isn’t out of town and can watch the kids. :)
