SoCal isn't better than NorCal

Except when it comes to everything. Lame lame lame. And here I thought the angry return of my allergies signaled the end of my honeymoon period down here.

Well, the people as a whole are douchetastic...

But constant exposure to the Lakers and Dodgers and the Ducks makes it a painful viewing experience when I sit down to watch my beloved Giants, Warriors and Ducks. That’s all.

shopping in socal is way easier than in norcal. everything is everywhere. up here there are things that just aren’t very close (depending where you live). socal runs on shopping and spending $$. of course it has better shopping. in a land that’s blood is the cars that are everywhere again of course the parking will be better.

by positiveuphemism on Apr 27, 2009 9:31 PM PDT up reply actions

everying in socal…la…store wise, is the same. You don’t need to go to anywhere else that the mega complex near you and its all fucking chain shit, for the most part… The independent, boutique stores up north blast LA to the hell it came from.

4 – outdoor activities
5 – traffic

they all look the same in socal. it’s just eerie how much alike everyone looks down there. i’m glad i was able to escape. physical attraction is an opinion thing like anything anyone here writes. girls are nice everywhere, but take those same girls and give them the option of socal: look good, but look like everyone else, or norcal: do whatever the fuck you want, no one cares. I’ll take the individuals any day.

by positiveuphemism on Apr 27, 2009 9:33 PM PDT up reply actions

Hey, I've lived here for six years, too...

Other things that are better, besides the five great ones you mentioned…

1- movie theater crowds
2- women (strictly from a looks perspective)
3- roads (you can get to one place in multiple ways; this is not the same as traffic, which sucks or the condition of the roads, which are awful)
4- food

by Every6thDay on Apr 27, 2009 9:29 PM PDT up reply actions

you really think the food is better in la? that likely says more about you, than the quality in food. movie theatre crowds? up here is better if you like indie and intl film. women…wash. roads….cuz its a fucking grid with no character in an endless suburb!
