Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants, Apr 27, 2009 7:15 PM PDT

Next Game

Los Angeles Dodgers
@ San Francisco Giants

Monday, Apr 27, 2009, 7:15 PM PDT
AT&T Park

Pol Pot vs Barry Zito

Partly cloudy. Game time temperature around 50. Lineup subject to change. If Pol Pot is not available, the Los Angeles Dodgers reserve the right to substitute a different servant of evil at their discretion.

Complete Coverage >

Osiris Matos up, Eugenio Velez down. It's probably temporary until Merkin Valdez returns from Ft. Lauderdale, where he was having a raging spring break.

Apropos of nothing, my favorite out-of-context quote of the year thus far belongs to Brian Wilson:

Obviously I’m not doing things like going toe-to-toe with a ninja. Find me a ninja, for one.

Figuring out why a grown man would say that just takes the fun out of it. Just let the quote live on its own. Don't investigate and ruin the magic.

Depends on where you live. My wife got a speeding ticket (NM) a while ago in a construction zone, 15 mph over the speed limit and it was only $90.

by paboperfecto on Apr 27, 2009 6:56 PM PDT up reply actions

I got a ticket a while ago for turning right at a red light (here in Vallejo). Since you are undoubtedly wondering, it was because I did not come to a full and complete stop (at 10:30 at night, with no one around).

That ticket was nearly $300. I think it must have been because I was a little short with the sherriff’s deputy that gave me the ticket.

Sacramento county. $204 for the ticket, $56 “administrative fee” for taking the traffic school and whatever the school cost is going to be. I was goin 80 in a 65. It was freaking midnight on a wednesday. There was no one else on the road except for a bunch of cops waiting on on-ramps. Grr.

Howwie wasn’t. I made this about 10 minutes ago when my Grandpa called and interrupted me. So this is ok.

I left for meatloaf and came back to a 3-0 lead. I’ll take it.

Also my mom’s boyfriend threw an odd trivia question at me: A Yankees pitcher born in 1938 and wore #38. My first guess was Don Larsen but he was born in 1925 and wore #18. The most famous Yankee with #38 was Yogi Berra per YankeeNumbers.com—here I thought Yogi was #8. There’s nobody else of note who wore #38 other than maybe Jerry Narron in the 70s. So either my mom’s guy is full of it or just messing with us.

Also the AFLAC trivia question…I guessed Ryan Howard but I’m probably wrong.
