Best experience at a game: BLB’s record-tying shot in San Diego. Nabbed the tickets before the season even started. What luck! I also fondly remember attending a game at the ’Stick where Woody hit a triple. The place was going crazy!

What would you do to “fix” baseball: More Rush music! I keed, I keed. It pisses me off that stadiums are all corporate-named now, but that’s not technically “ruining” baseball. So I’ll say either getting rid of the DH or less games during the year. Cut it in half or even by a 1/3rd, and don’t play each team in the league each year. That way, when we play certain clubs, it means more. I dunno, that’s dumb, but thats all I can think of on the spot.

Best experience at a game: Four Game series against the Dodgers at Candlestick. We were in “The City” for a Dodgers series. Went to a game on my birthday with Mrs. nvsfg. Giants won. Then she asked what I wanted to do the next day. " Go to a Giants Game" I said. So we did, and we did the next day, and the next day. “Business Mans” specials and a Friday night game as well. Don’t even remember the scores, but we sat in lower box seats for all four games, and ate in North Beach every night. One of the best birthdays ever. And….going to a game the first season at Pac Bell. Freakin’ Beautiful.

Giants fan since: Early Teens. Grew up with the Padres, they sucked, but got to see the Giants play. Really liked the history of team.

Why a fan: Baseball is a spiritual game. It takes place in Spring, the time of rebirth. No time limit during a game, it ends when nine innings have been played. . Anything can happen, it’s the ultimate game of possibilities. Every year can be our year, even when the team is bad. The season is 162 games long, you have a lot time to enjoy it before you are really out of the chase.

Best experience at a game: 2005, the first game Bonds played after he missed most of the year due to his knee surgery. When Barry came up and nearly homered in his first at bat the place went apeshit. Plus, at the time I was dating the hottest guy ever and we went to the game together. He had his arm around me the whole night and even kept score for me when I went to the ladies’ room. Later we made out on Muni. It was awesome.

Why a fan: I’m third generation Bay Area. My grandmother went to the first 49er games at Kezar Stadium. Like I said above, it was born into me. Around age 12, I started to embrace the game beyond just “hey look it’s baseball.” Then around age 14, I first heard Jon Miller on the radio. I was sold.

Advice for Giants fans: Get to know your minor league teams. I’d tell this to any fan of any team, but it’s especially true for us. We have some amazing things happening on the farm. Even if we only get a handful of results from today’s prospects, it’s still really special to follow the progress and stories of our minor league teams.

Anything else: I’ve said this before but it bears repeating. Never have I felt more welcome and appreciated on a sports forum than here. It’s refreshing to have intelligent sports discourse first of all, and second of all, to have my opinions and insights respected and sought after is really important to me. Best experience at a game: 1997 – in general. Drove up from Monterey for about a dozen games with my dad and my little brother. It was a great year, and I am a million times closer with my dad now than I ever would have been because of that.

Few teams are as blessed to have two minor league squads as close as we do…and if the A’s have their way, it won’t last much longer.

What would you do to "fix" baseball:

- Eliminate midseason exhibition games against nonleague teams, giving fans more chance to see games against NL opponents.

-Immediately rescind the TV rights agreement with Fox, and develop system to allow non-subscribers to stream single games at will for one time fee.

-Eliminate two teams, or add two teams, and eliminate two divisions, to remind folks why baseball seasons are 162 games long and what pennant races are. The UN Human Rights Commission does not guarantee that winning 100 games gets a team a pennant (which Giants fans know best of all). That’s for little league, where everyone wins.

- Replace Selig with Kenesaw Mountain Landis. I realize he is dead, but I don’t think Judge Landis’ bones would allow an allstar game to determine home field advantage for the world series. And the bones would have equivalent effect on actual baseball policy.

Worst Giants memory: The game in the 2003 playoffs with Jose Cruz Jr’s dropped fly ball. It was worse than the 2002 series for me because in 2002 I was with friends, but that game in 2003 I was in a bar, and there were a bunch of douchebags from LA cheering the whole time as the Giants went down. They didn’t like the Marlins at all, they were just rooting for the Giants to fail. Assholes.

Best experience at a game: I haven’t been to too many games, since I haven’t lived in SF much since I was a kid. I think my favorite game was a couple years ago, when Notgardo hit a two-run double to complete a really exciting comeback. That was back when he first got called up and was hitting like crazy, before pitchers learned that they didn’t actually have to throw him strikes. This in no way parallels any current young players on the Giants in any way at all.

Best Giants memory: Bobby Thomson’s home run, in 1951. I had stormed away from the TV in rage when the Dodgers went ahead, and heard the end of the game standing outside, through the window, so I never actually SAW the home run on TV, except of course many times on replay and DVD.
Worst G.m.: the same goddamn World Series game, a few outs away from the title, that is nearly every one else’s worst, too.
Giants fan since: 1946; and I still remember the thrill I had as a kid when I heard on the radio that Mel Ott, then the manager, was sending himself up as a pinch hitter. (He didn’t get a hit, and his 1946 team finished last.) The next year, when I started being taken to games at the Polo Grounds—and even once, gasp! at Ebbetts Field—was much better, with the team hitting 221 home runs.
Why a fan? Because I lived in Brooklyn, where everyone else was a Dodger fan. No way I was going to be like everyone else.
What would you do to fix baseball? Put horse blinders on the fans, and silence the hoopla, so that everyone had to focus intently on the game. Abolish the DH, too.

Why a fan: I’m not really sure why. Sure, my Dad is a Giants fan and had taken games to me my whole life, but I never really cared until 2002. And now, I’m a much bigger fan than he is. I don’t know what it is that attracts me to baseball so much, but I love it.

What would you do to “fix” baseball: Get rid of Fox’s exclusive window on Saturday! I understand the argument for having day games for the playoffs, but I would like to actually be able to go to those games, which I wouldn’t be able to do if they’re on a weekday.

Anything else: I just recently discovered this site, and I absolutely love it. This community is amazing! I still don’t quite understand how things are done here, and I don’t get a lot of inside jokes, but it’s still fun. But since I’d rather actually be at the ballpark watching the Giants than on my computer typing about the Giants, I don’t get to spend as much time as I would like here reading everything. I’m a bit crazy and I like to watch the players get to the ballpark and leave the ballpark, so sometimes I’m there for 12 hours in one day…. And I’ve never seen a minor league game but I really want to now!!
