Buster Quote
Some talent evaluators who have seen Rowand this morning have questions about how effective he’ll be at the plate in the seasons ahead. “I wonder how much life he has left in his body,” said one.
And there’s the quote. (Posting fanshots be hard, yo.)

Yeah, it is (wasn’t sure how to post a Fanshot with just the Olney quote). I didn’t think it would be kosher to link to Olney’s Insider-only article just for the quote, esp. since it was posted in commentary to the linked SJ Merc article so linked the original article and posted the quote. Confusing – you betcha!

Martinez said, “Oh, please. I’d be OK if they asked me to sweep the dugout.”
Awesome, this is exactly in line w/ the attitude he had when I met him. I’m really pulling for this guy…
Guh?
: “Whichever way we go, it won’t be because of his play. He’s played well here.”

you have to be able to understand retard to figure out what Bochy’s saying. Since I do, I’ll explain. Bochy is saying that it’s a simple roster crunch and the Giants’ aren’t sure whether they’re going to carry a backup catcher or just have Sandoval. He’s saying that it didn’t matter if Holm had a good spring or a bad spring, the decision to carry two or three catchers would be the decision that puts Holm on the team or at Fresno.
