A Modest Proposal
- Send Velez and Burriss back down.
- Bring up Frandsen and Macpherson.
- Jettison Uribe and bring up Guzman.
- Bask in the glow of having a backup plan for infield suckitude.

I’m not too confident in Frandsen’s ability to play SS, which means you need one of Burriss or Uribe to back up the position. And Guzman/MacPherson probably cancel each other out. But your larger point is a good one.

Eat all the middle infielders?

Also, I’d keep Burriss up, but agree with sending Velez down and calling up Frandsen. I wouldn’t mind seeing Frandsen give Pablo some days off at third, because it looks like Pablo could use a break.
Also, ditching Uribe for Guzman sounds like a good idea. I think K-Fran can do anything Uribe can do, but hopefully without sucking quite as much. And Guzman might be one of those “good hitters” I hear so much about.

I suspect Guzaman is, or should be, the "Plan B" for corner infield spots should Ishikawa blaze down the JR Philphs trail and/or Molinia no longer be with the team and/or Panda needs a trip down to sort things out. ETA for such a move would be end of May to first half of June.
Yes, I think Dallas is the "Plan C".

I regret to inform you that Nate was last seen entering the event horizon of the Ortmeire Cloud. Nothing has even been proven to return from the Ortmeire Cloud.

Guzman and McPherson instead of Uribe and Velez
That would leave us with no back up middle infielders and four 1B/3B. Who plays 2B if Burriss/Frandsen or Renteria need a rest? Aurilia? I wouldn’t be so quick to send Burriss down either, it’s been only 11 games, and he’s still out-hitting Sandoval, Renteria, and Ishikawa. But I’m perfectly fine with sending Uribe or Velez down for Frandsen.
Adoptive parent of Noah Lowry. Because he was awesome once, and, goddammit, he shall be awesome once again!
I hope.
Early, yes
The notion is predicated on sustained offensive ineptitude from Sandoval and Ishikawa. But, yeah, you’re right.

Right except, that is, for
the “out-hitting” part…
Sandoval: .244/292/.356
Renteria: .200/289/.250
Burriss: .189/268/.216
*of course, today’s game may have had something to do with that ;)
