I was at the game last night and just have to vent

so here’s an idea of the dodgers fans there…

“giants suck”, “go back to the gay area”, “giants are fags”. all family friendly stuff when their team was up by five runs. and for every one “go dodgers” you hear five “giants suck” because they don’t seem to want pride in their home team, just contempt for another city.

i saw three fights break out and someone threw a full container of popcorn at a giants fan who was walking up the aisle; he went and told security so logically security threw HIM out.

one dodgers fan stood up, looked at the crowd around him and yelled “show some class guys, we’re representing the dodgers”…. he was booed and had bottles thrown at him until he gave up and walked away.

walking away from the game two drunks started yelling “any faggot giants fans here? i want to kick some ass”. there were six of us, but my most rowdy friend who is always ready to brawl just shrugged and said “eh, i’ve got work tomorrow and a future, so i’ll pass.”

i’ve been going to dodgers-giants games here in l.a. since 1998 and this was one of the worst crowds i’ve seen… each year they seem to get more vulgar and disrespectful.

man, i can’t wait to see a game up home next month with decent human beings.

Where were you sitting?

A buddy of mine just moved to LA and I was considering catching a Giants-Dodgers game with him down there this summer. If this kind of stuff only happens in the pavilion then that’s fine, I want good seats anyway. If this happens everywhere in the ballpark I probably won’t even bother.

happens in every section

2 years ago (i have only been to one game since and sat in a different area…nosebleed seats), i was sitting in box with both giant and dodger fans

the fans above were spitting down on a bums fan….later in the game, they dropped a baby bottle on my head

went to security…they yelled at me for not reporting the incidents sooner

when i went last year, i had to sit with the gang bangers….obnoxious and vile

i will never go back to the latrine ever

My then-12-year-old Sister-in-Law went to a Giants-Bums gave at Chavez a couple of years ago with her friend’s family. She borrowed one of my Giants hats to wear, and got spit on.
I guess I am glad I was not there, because I would have gone balistic. What kind of fans, dead drunk or not, spit on a little girl? Aboslutely unheard of.

If I saw a 12-year old get spit on at a ballgame, you’d better believe I’d pound the guy’s face in.

I was at the game too ...

As long as you are not in the bleachers or Top Deck, and sport your team but arent vocal and draw attention to yourself you’ll get some “Giants suck” or “F the Giants” but normally stop at that. I was in the Top Deck Wednesday night and a bunch of dodger fans crowded behind me and roughly massaged my shoulders and yells stuff in my ear. I just dont let them rattle me and nothing violent happens. The are dumb fans anyway, you can’t see half of the game because they are too concerned about their beach balls.

Wait a minute

So ten dudes sit behind you and roughly massage you, whatever that is, and yell stuff in your ear and your OK with that? I mean you survived but I don’t want random Dodger guys aggressively massaging me. Fuck that.

Yeah, its like “Except for all the verbal and physical abuse, it’s fine. As long as you don’t mind a bunch of guys assaulting you and being unable to see the game, that is.”

No kidding…It’s a bloody shame that nobody tried shit like that on me for my only visit to the Latrine. A little martial arts/wrestling experience goes a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG way and you can sure as hell bet that at the very least the dude would walk away with a dislocated elbow and be thrown over my shoulder a few rows down.

You’re calling someone a dumbass for being assaulted? Way to blame the victim. And as someone who’s been assaulted, physically and sexually, when someone unexpectedly lays their hands on you, it’s a fairly shocking and unbelievable thing. Plus, assault is pretty hard to nail down and prosecute as the aggressor is often long gone by the time you get help.

You are unbelievably pinheaded.

There is no safe place

Even if you have good seats the parking lot is like a Tijuana Dog Fight. I refuse to attend any game at the Latrine.

It’s a shithole stadium anyway, I would rank the Coliseum and Shea above it.

Nice, very nice.

I think SoCal brings out the asshat in people. It’s all that traffic, and the messages that if you’re not a movie star, you’re crrrrrap. That will do a number on anyone. I do like the “Show some class” guy, but am not surprised he got shouted down.

Still backing Notgardo, wheresoever he may wander. (Don't forget to wriiiite!)

WBC

I have to say that I went to the WBC finals weekend at The Latrine and the worst fans I ran into were Giants fans. 6 guys all in high school or recently graduated sat a row behind me and my friends. During the first game on Saturday they were as obnoxious and horrible as any fans I have come across. I’m 25 and I know my way around a bottle of whiskey pretty well so I understand being a drunken ass at a young age but these guys were awful. They were cussing and constantly chanting at the top of their lungs “Dodgers Suck!” and other unmentionables. All the better that they were doing this right in front of a bunch of children. The asshats didn’t seem to care that the Dodgers weren’t even playing. To make it worse they were decked out head to toe in orange and black so there was no mistaking who they were pulling for. It made me cringe. About half way through that first game I started yelling back that they were a disgrace and actually stood up and yelled at them to STFU. Which they responded to with more chants of “Dodgers suck” as well as homophobic slurs about any Dodger fan in the area. Not my proudest moment as a life long Giants fan.

Yeah I live in SoCal and used to go to a lot of Dodger Giants games in Shitez Ravine (that is an imaginative and clever pun) but now its not worth it, even if you are quiet and just applaud when the Giants do well they will come after, when I was six years old and a yeller full grown dodger fans would threaten to beat me up. I cannot stand to go to games there with the worst fans in sports. I used to think that I thought that just because I hated the Dodgers but I see that all fans of opposing teams have a very low regard for Dodger fans, especially Phillies fans.
Great fanpost, I guarantee that Dodger fans who come to SF do not receive the same shoddy treatment that we get. When I went to some SF-LA games last year at ATT Dodger fans were fairly well treated even though they were obnoxious asses away from their turf. They could pretty much all die and I would be happy, and I have a lot of close friends who are Dodger fans, but still fuck em’

Friday night Dodgers-Giants game are pretty bad. I know a few ushers at AT&T. Arrests during these games easily reach triple digits.

I used to watch a lot of games in the family pavilion at candlestick as a kid and even there I saw plenty of fights with Dodger fans. It may have become a little less intense at the new park but at our old digs it used to be nearly as bad as the Latrine.

My Giants jersey was a victim to a tray on nachos a few years ago. I did nothing to provoke it or anything. No longer will I sit in the upper deck or the especially the bleachers there. I personally hate going there all together.

These "people"

Must be leftover LA Raiders fans, probably the most vile human beings ever to attend sporting events in the United States. I’ve heard stories of little children (under 10) getting profanity and beer thrown on them. Threats of violence on small children was common. Some of that migrated north when the Raiders moved back to Oakland. All for only wearing some opponents jerseys.

how anyone in LA can still be a Raider fan is beyond me. Being screwed twice you would think they would get the point.

I know a guy who flew 3,000 miles to see a Oakland Raider-NY Jet playoff game a few years ago, and the fans were so abusive to him that after making the long trip he actually left before the game even started and watched the game from his hotel room.
