Didn't hear about this:
Holm, meanwhile, remains hitless in 11 at-bats and was transferred to extended spring training Thursday. He had not played since getting hit in the elbow during an at-bat Tuesday.

It’ll be interesting to see how they handle advancing Posey this year. From all accounts that I’ve read, he’s picking up the ability to call games and mesh with pitchers extremely well. Anybody have any additional information on his D so far?

Proud parent of future rookie of the year, Gerald Posey!

a couple PB and I know that he’s thrown at least one runner out.

It would be nice to see Posey and Bumgarner move through the orginization together.

Assuming he keeps doing well, I think they should move up him along with whoever advances quicker between Timmy2 or MadBum.

I really don’t think there is any way he is going to stay in San Jose the entire season.

Right now Jon Miller is somewhere wearing a flamboyant tie and thinking about me.

agreed...

I actually bet they’ll give him a cup of coffee with the big club… at least if he keeps performing like this.

Idolizing Robb Nen since 2002...

Reasons why it's dumb to talk about early season stats like they're meaningful, part 147:
The guys next in line at Triple-A Fresno — Steve Holm and Eli Whiteside — were a combined 0 for 22 for the Grizzlies entering Thursday and for that matter didn’t really show much in spring training either.

After one hot game, Whiteside now has a .783 OPS.

Meet my new son: Sundrendy Windster, coming soon to a minor league near you.

Do NOT rush the kid

If the brass is going to have Posey remain a catcher than please do not rush the kid. At best follow “The Wieters Plan”

and do not change his position either. They gave up on Villalona as a third baseman when Sabean said his bat was far more advanced than their glove, and I don’t want them to do this with Posey. Leave him down there all year and have him master the position.

They won't

They know just how valuable Posey at catcher is, and Villalona by many accounts does not have the skills to be a serviceable third basemen

Why does Sabean always look constipated?

I would hope

He spends at least half a season in San Jose, and finishes the year with a late September cup of coffee after leading Fresno to an amazing championship run.

Another couple more dominant 2010 months in Fresno (ala Lincecum) before taking over the catching job and the rest of the MLB.

And you haven’t even seen their fan fiction.
