I liked DS9, but Patrick Stewart is so much better an actor than Avery Brooks that it’s not even funny.

Brooks was a better actor than any of the other captains, but that’s not saying all that much.

They were all (Stewart, Brooks, Mulgrew) classical stage actors, I think. Compared to Stewart, I think Brooks adjusted his style least from the stage for TV. So he came off a little over-the-top.

At the end of the show, they were still portraying him as the naive, fresh-faced, just-out-of-the-academy ensign. He’d been on this ship for SEVEN YEARS.

Actually, that was a problem with Voyager in general: a pathological fear of character development or change of the status quo. Which is hilarious, given that the premise has them constantly moving to new places.

We rated him highly at SF Dugout. Seeing this is really disappointing.

I heard somewhere earlier that Jon Miller was on the plane to San Diego with Perdomo, which was good for Perdomo as he doesn’t speak much English and doesn’t have a player card. Miller helped him get into the stadium.
