Thanks for putting this together, btw.

"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

No problem, finally had the time and it needed to be done.

Also, I just edited the post to say please don’t discuss in this thread since it’s going to be long, but you couldn’t have seen it in time. Just warning for more people.

Once it’s done, I can update the wiki for you.

I was also going to keep on editing this post (taking the people who drafted off the list and putting their players on the top) and like to it too. I’m not sure how up to date the wiki is by now.

Also, going to bed so once xanthan picks the next person pick if they see it before I put “MEMBER’S Pick.” Although I’m not sure if I should trust this lot.

The Basil Fawlty Moderating Strategy:
"We could run a nice blog here if we didn't have all these members getting in the way."
Kevin Frandsen should be with the big team.

Forgive me,

but I’m not totally up to speed. Do we want to draft guys we want to succeed (eg, minor-leaguers whose careers we follow and that interest us), or just guys we like or what? Would it be tacky to take someone who’s already well established?

As an aside I had no idea I’d be drafting that high

It’s pretty much up to you. I picked Alderson because I like him and his potential.

+1

I’m following even though I’m not in the draft. New level of baseball nerdyness accomplished.

Since I'm on the list twice does that mean I get two people?

;p

Catcher are base running. Hitters are offense.
Only [hella] games left until the end of Zito's contract.

Also, thehavenot is listed twice in a row. Compensation pick?

My turn

And while it’s tempting to take Tim Lincecum or Pablo Sandoval, but they’re both just so universally adored, so I don’t have much to add. So, instead, I’ll take another of my favorites – a popular player ’round here, no doubt, but not worshipped quite so much as those two.

I’m taking Fred Lewis.
