Fresno Grizzlies at Reno Aces
Reno Aces are new AAA team in Reno--Dback affiliate, new stadium too. Their opening day is April 17.
Fresno plays there Friday May 8 6pm, May 9 and 10 1 pm, and Monday the 11th, 6 pm. Will Jose Guzman hit a memorable dinger? Will players lose their shirts gambling? Will prospecthound be on hand to show youngsters the seamy side of Reno?
Fresno closes out both teams' regular season September 4 thru 7.
I like the Rivercats' stadium, but Reno, especially for a day game, sounds fun.

I am definitely going to the games that weekend in May. I wish you could bet on minor league games. That would make it so much more exciting.

the website does not actually give the stadium location. But somebody suggests parking at the bowling garage at 4th and Lake. So I guess it is downtown, and parking not easy.

it would be a 5 min walk from one of the parking garages downtown

Which team?

Visalia isn’t getting a new stadium, they’re renovating the existing ballpark. Last I read, it was going to be a huge challenge to get it done in time for Opening Day.
And, if anyone has been to Visalia, you know they badly needed some enhancements to Rec Park.

Worse shape than Muni? I mean, Muni is great but it’s getting quite old and chipped.

Potaytoes, Potahtoes
I live in Visalia, and you’re right…it desperately needed the renovations to bring people in. Even so, though, it’s in such a bad part of town that I don’t think many families feel safe around there.
I called it a new stadium because with all the renovations they’re doing, it essentially is a new stadium. Completely new right field stands/concession area, parking lot, and they’re tearing up the field completely. Next on the list is even more expanded seating.
I am skeptical they’ll be able to finish the job by opening day, but the project manager (whom I know personally) says it will get done, so we’ll see. It’s very exciting, nevertheless, especially for when the miniGiants come to town!
