Open Gameday Thread, 3/3
You know, I don't think there is any audio or video of the game anywhere. But some of you will have some pirate feed from radiogoodtime.cz, or you'll just keep refreshing the boxscore from MLB.com. So here's to you, you sick, baseball-starved freaks.

In other news,America is currently beating the Yankees 6-1 in the top of the 6th. There’s a joke here somewhere but damned if I know what it is.
Barry Zito - Mildly half-OK! Sometimes.
Lotta regulars
Winn – RF
Renteria – SS
Sandoval – 3B
Bengie – C
Ishi – 1B
Rowand – CF
Velez – LF
Frandsen – 2B
Randy – P
Don't think, it could only hurt the ballclub.
We’re one sore bunion away from that being the opening day lineup.

Manny Ramirez has a bunion?
I’d imagine FLew hits 5th & Ishi moves to 7th. Sound right?
Don't think, it could only hurt the ballclub.
Young hitting 3rd this year
Bad idea or terrible idea?
Don't think, it could only hurt the ballclub.
Looked at the stats on the preview page, thought it was batting order...
…it goes Bocock, Bowker, Burris, Frandsen, Gillaspie … I thought, man, hit one homer and suddenly Frandsen’s a cleanup hitter, huh?

velez haters—hate him if you want, but he is 5th outfielder, also third righty-hitting OF, and other key roles in the season to come. Eugenio’s righty hitting lags a bit, but still worth putting out there. As a prospect hound I would not have minded seeing Nate either.

And the only guy to see more than 1 pitch struck out swinging.

These announcers, ripping on the d-backs uniforms.
Its not even mildly amusing.

It really underlines just how good our ‘A’ team are! Jon and Dave can make a rain delay compelling listening!

Derin McMains had five fingers, but he only used three.
Eh?
They’re bringing in a PH for Davis. His pitch count was 8?!?

With Randy, Tim, Cain & Sanchez our infield defense might not matter much this year.

Diff'rent strokes
Was listening to the Cards/Mets game on XM earlier, and the Mets are batting the pitcher’s spot 2nd, I guess so that the starting pitcher will get an at bat without having to go 3! I’m pretty sure that none of our pitchers have had an at bat yet!
"If you don’t like Pablo Sandoval, you don’t like baseball, don’t appreciate life, or are a dodger fan—any of which mean you aren’t actually human." - haverecords
I don’t see the point in putting the pitcher in the batting order anyway. I understand they need to practice bunting and such, but I’d rather a hitter take those at bats instead.
+1
Practice bunting when someone didn’t pay 20 bucks to see a game.
Don't think, it could only hurt the ballclub.
Giants player...walked?
Doesn’t that mean he had to…not swing at some pitches?

I don’t know if we can ever say “it is safe to say” with Sabes in charge.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch
Remember that guy last year who wrote a fanpost about how it was way too early to evaluate the Zito contract?
He also had a fanpost at the same time about how we shouldn’t say mean things about Sabean because he’s a nice guy and a personal friend.
If you didn’t see it, I’m sure you can imagine the reception.

Cod puts up a good OBP, but the league really undervalues mackerel so you get more value for your money with him.
Never has a poster been more correct in the history of the internet. Ever! - ResDog on yours truly
Yes but Cod has a higher upside. Mackerel has good numbers but with the small sample size I smell something fishy.
I was excited when we signed Barry Zito
They’ve been saying cod has this great upside for YEARS now, and he never shows it. it’s time to give up and realize he’s a sea-average fish at best, albeit with a plus fin.

You’ve been naysaying Cod ever since he was in the PCL! You’re just rooting for failure!
