Steve Phillips has an expanded role on ESPN, it seems. He’s flapping his yap on ESPNews. When will it end?

Fun fact!

Steve Phillips coached my little league team. We were considerably below 500, even with Mo Vaughn playing 1b.

by MonkeyChow on Mar 29, 2009 1:21 PM PDT up reply actions

Fun fact!

One of my Little League coaches insisted on having his son play second base every inning of every game, even once when he was throwing a temper tantrum and lying on the ground in the middle of an inning.

My team didn’t do very well that year, needless to say.

He couldn’t even really play defense at that point, so he was put on the roster as a PH. 25 games, 25 at-bats, .120 / .148 / .120 line. -26 OPS+.

The issue

is that most people use it incorrectly. I use it everyday for work and have found it to be a great conversational marketing tool. The trick is to actually share content (i.e. interesting news articles, blog posts, findings/thoughts on work or social issues) and not just flood people with useless fodder about what you’re currently doing.

You mean all that money can’t mask a busted team and ballpark to match?

I thought so a little bit

but the rotunda is pretty nice. It’s no mays field tho :P. At least it’s not nationals park

by bondslegend on Mar 29, 2009 11:49 PM PDT up reply actions

Nationals Park is terribly boring. Pristine, no doubt, but dull. But I guess not every team can have a stadium built along the SF bay, with the glorious California sunshine and wafting scent of garlic fries.

I miss California… Summer can’t come soon enough

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that about Nats park. Never actually been there, but it does look pretty boooring on TV

That’s a question that doesn’t need answering until mid May, Correct?

Don't think so

Unless he makes the team now (or the Giants work out a trade), he has to be offered back to the team we got him from.

I’ll vote yes. Then he goes on the list the G men "pull up" one the minor league contract RP vets and make a final decision in mid May. That is my guess.

I really doubt walker would take a roster spot away from a promising reliever we would lose if he didn’t make the team. Sabean has been making sound moves as of late and If perdomo didn’t have a chance to make this team, he would have been returned already.
