Interesting Article from ESPN Ombudsman
I agree with most, if not all, of what she says, but I wonder what the decision makers at ESPN think.
Optimistic marcello is optimistic.
Pessimistic marcello snorts derisively.

She was a really good ombudsman for the two years she was there. Always wrote incisive, critical columns. However, it seems likely that her final bit of advice will fall on deaf ears.

She was great and it’s crappy that she’s leaving, but I have a hard time believing any of her articles have any effect on how ESPN goes about things. They won’t change as long as the money is coming in.

I saw in the paper a comment by the creator of ESPN that was something along the lines:
ESPN is awesome. It permeates all of society. I AM AWESOME
I skimmed the article but agree.

Not much ESPN any more.
I get the ESPN Magazine as it has a couple decent articles/interviews. Buster Olney’s daily blog is now my morning sports page, since he gives you links to all of the local baseball articles. That’s about it. MLB Channel has taken over ESPN/2/News/Classic for my television viewing.
ESPN jumped the shark a long time ago.
When did the phrase ‘jump the shark’ jump the shark?
Don't think, it could only hurt the ballclub.

Same here. The wife’s least favorite channel is no longer ESPN, but now is MLB Network.

I didn’t realize that was written a while back, I just saw it today. Was it already linked here?

Hahahaa, no it wasn’t linked here. ESPN kinda buried it after the first day (like they do with most articles that have substance on their site), so it’s no surprise it took so long for you to see it.
