Marlins' ballpark vote passes Retractable-roof stadium slated for 2012 opening
Moving into their own home is part of rebirth of the franchise. When the team begins playing at the Orange Bowl, it will be renamed the Miami Marlins. The club's lease at the park is 35 years.

I like the sound of the Miami Marlins. Is there a drawing of this new stadium?

There are a whole bunch of renderings all over the internet, but they’re pretty old. I’d really like to see what they have planned for this new stadium

They still won’t draw….
Adoptive Parent of Francisco Peguero. He can throw, he can run, he can hit(fastballs), and he's Dominican. What else do you need to know?
All 10 Marlins fans are pleased with this news.

I think they should move to the actual Havana. They could fine all the fans for attending games

Looking at those pics makes me love our park even more. The Marlins park reminds me of Skydome, which was really the shit when it opened, but is looking very uninspired and tired these days. I agree that there will be a temporary boost in attendance but in 10 years or less they will be complaining about the lack of attendance.

Agree
The renderings make it look like a giant Tupperware Bowl.
My plans for 2009: getting married and attending Tim Lincecum Bobblehead Day.
Gotta make sure to burp it first.

Nothing beats 24 Willie Mays Plaza
but those renderings look pretty cool. I’m just wondering where they think they’re going to find 37,000 fans to fill those seats

Why is it impossible to design a good looking ballpark these days? This one is nothing special, the new Twins park is a bore, so was the design for the Fremont stadium. The only decent design I’ve seen in the past few years is the Rays park, which is never gonna happen. Oh well, I guess it will be nice to have the most beautiful park in baseball for years to come.

The new Twins ballpark is a major disappointment. Citi Field, where the Mets will play, is also pretty dull. Large and hi-tech, but dull

That’s kinda fugly.
And with the roof open, it looks like it’s gonna tip over from the imbalance.
Art Vandalay would have done a much better design.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch
Well...
At least it breaks the trend of new ballparks trying to look classic.
Unless Sorta-Jetsons-ish what-the-future-was-like in the 1950’s is now classic.
At least we won’t be in danger of AT&T Park being overtaken as one of the greatest ballparks in history. And at least it’s not the supposed Devil Rays ballpark plan.
