He’s an unbelievable douchebag but man could he pitch. Have fun with your money and i’m sure you are going to get bored and find some medium to yammer to everyone, im thinking Peter Gammons or Rachel Ray.
He’s HOF material much in the same way Bonds is.

Other than both being considered jerks, that’s a massive amount of bullshit.

obviously
i meant it in the fact that both were incredible players that don’t exactly get along with everyone like david wright and eric byrnes. Both players are complete assholes that are stinking rich, but they were damn fine in their jobs. If by “bullshit” you mean that Bonds in an HR king and Schilling is an outstanding pitcher and that i think they are the same player, then i think you need to think about what i meant instead of looking something to go off on. If you have that much frustration i recommend the gym or pimping. I hear that ain’t easy.

It seemed a lot like you meant Schilling was as good of a baseball player as Bonds was. But yes they were both talented dicks, although Bonds was by far the more talented dick.

This is exactly my point. Bonds is at the top of a bunch of all-time lists. Schilling isn’t close.
There was no malice or frustration to my post, just a curse word.

I’m a Red Sox fan and I don’t think he’s a HOFer.

the HOF has constantly been taking items from him for his “heroics” in the post season. His numbers may not be typical HOF, but his impression in postseason play will make people think a bit when voting. Frankly i don’t think his numbers should get him in, but i think he will nontheless because it’s buzzworthy.

One of my least favorite baseball players of all time
Not because of his skill. He had great baseball skill. But he comes off as someone who is so full of himself that he can say anything and do anything that he pleases. He is such a piece of garbage in that respect, that I hope we don’t have to hear from him ever again.
San Jose Sabercats. 2009 Arena Football Champions........Oh wait a second.

He’s a borderline HOFer to me. But, because he was the most feared pitcher with a bloody sock that pitched in the greatest comeback performance in the history of man, he’ll make it in.
Don't think, it could only hurt the ballclub.

He may now be retired, but we have not heard the last from him, if you know what I mean.
My plans for 2009: getting married and attending Tim Lincecum Bobblehead Day.

Really cannot stand the guy’s personality, but when his stuff was on he could take down any batter.
HOFer? well, 216 career wins over 20+ seasons: ehh. 3,116 Ks is VERY good, but the real eye opener is his 10-2 postseason record and a 2.23 ERA. Even though they shouldn’t, these numbers will influence voters, along with the comeback against the Yankees and his adamant claims to be against steroids and everyone who ever looked upon them or thought to use them should be tarred and feather’d, to vote him in in 5 years. (And so I say a small prayer, let it come out his name is on a list somewhere).
But still, hes a jerk and a douchebag who thinks EVERYONE deserves to hear his opinion on things. So I hope he spends the rest of his days face down in mud.

Why shouldn’t postseason record/statistics contribute to his HOF case? Obviously his bloody sock and other playoff performances are what have contributed to his fame most…
I only have a signature because I recognize everyone else by their sigs, not their usernames..

Sorry, should have clarified.
His post season numbers were great, but other then his strikeout number he doesnt have the other qualities that the analysts all say you need to reach to try and get in. Hes 80+ wins from 300, career ERA of 3.50-ish.
He was dominant in the post season, but he would not have those post season numbers had he not had good teams around him. So I wonder how much stock is put into those post season numbers when the hall voters do their thing. No one can seem to predict how they will think other then a lot of them are stuck up pricks that are too high and mighty to unanimously vote someone in.

OH HAPPY DAY!
As Kurkow described him, he was a real “horses’ ass.”
Section 314 FTW!

I never liked that asshole.
Still hoping his name gets linked to HGH or steroids someday.

I really liked Shilling when he was a Phillie. Too bad he went and got a personality.

Now that his baseball career is out of the way, it looks as if Schilling is starting a new one in the lucrative field of video games: http://kotaku.com/5181235/curt-schilling-retiring-from-baseball-focusing-on-game-development
