That guy is a dick, Cain has pitched well and just gotten no support, and yet he only cites the win loss record, can we get him removed from the Chronicle. Seriously, can we start a petition.
Why does Sabean always look constipated?
indeed he does, but I think he is syndicated elsewhere around the bay

He had a hate agenda yesterday. According to Cohn’s crappy blog, Sabean was supposed to meet with him and was a no-show.

From what I understand Sabean (and Magowan) weren’t very cordial with the media. Suck it up and deal, you whiny tit.

Lowell Cohn is right!!
and no I’m not starting that rotoworld Matt Cain thing that I started the other day!! He’s right about the way they were shut down by the starting pitching for the third day in a row. Some friend called me all excited about the three wins, and I told them they were depressing to me because they all had the same pattern. We couldn’t touch the starting pitching with our starting lineup, and then when the starter left the game, our minor leaguers staged comebacks against their minor leaguers. While this bodes well for Fresno, Connecticut and San Jose fans, I’m very worried about the big club. Once the season starts, they won’t be pulling their starter after five innings and bringing in AA kids, their starters will go all the way to the setup men and closers.

I think this is unfair to say, as how can you determine what would happen if our big leaguers stayed in against the other teams better players?
by lincysgiants on Mar 20, 2009 10:52 AM PDT up reply actions
jeez, when Rich Aurilia is your third place hitter, you don’t know what’s coming? I’m with WTF though, I would love to see Jesus Guzman, Ryan Roehlinger, Buster Posey, etc. earlier in the game to see them against the best players on the other team. I’m just hoping all this playing time for Richie and Uribe is just one last look before they get dumped. If all we see from Jesus and Roehlinger is some late playing time before they get sent to the minors, they’re really not getting a fair chance.

I think Richie stays, although I agree with you… The organization love Rich and he hits lefties, Uribe should be shit-canned ASAP
by lincysgiants on Mar 20, 2009 11:03 AM PDT up reply actions
Richie isn’t going to start or be the 3rd spot hitter in the regular season. Yesterday’s starting lineup meant nothing other than the fact that it was spring.

Umm...
Were you expecting something different this year? It’s going to take a lot of factors to go right in 09 to just make this offense league average.
Was that too depressing for the first day of spring?
Don't think, it could only hurt the ballclub.
Well fortunately it’s an opinion piece and not a an opinion piece disguised as a news article, but he’s still objectionable.

I notice he asks himself “What did I really see?”
Meanwhile, the guy from giants jottings, who actually pays attention to the game, notes that 2 of the runs should probably not have scored (due to bad plays by schierholtz and winn).
While I agree that he has yet to live up to his potential (and who knows, may never), he is still a very good pitcher and it is ridiculous to call him a “scout killer.” Really, if he would just look at one stat besides w/l record or look at something besides a couple bad pitches in spring training…How do these people get paid to write this garbage.
Less arm, more talk. Raisingcain is a GAMER.

man, that Matt Cain is one unlucky guy.

Those two dingers he gave up wouldn’t have scored either, if the Giants’ would cooperate with Cain and play all their games in a larger park. Damn those bandboxes!!
