Around SBN: Are The Orioles Bad Or Unlucky With Their Young Pitching?

Commissioner Bud Selig visited Scottsdale Stadium on Sunday and met for an hour with Giants managing general partner Bill Neukom and President Larry Baer. Baer would not discuss the meeting but hinted Selig affirmed his public stance that he will not allow the A's to breach the Giants' territorial rights to San Jose.

Finishing the sentence

Baer would not discuss the meeting but hinted Selig affirmed his public stance that he will not allow the A’s to breach the Giants’ territorial rights to San Jose unless they’re willing to pay a crapload of money to Bill Neukom.

My plans for 2009: getting married and attending Tim Lincecum Bobblehead Day.

I really don’t think it’d be worth that much. Oakland is going downhill (again).

Possible future Westernish locations for the A's that aren't San Jose

Sacramento, Portland, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles

They’d damn well better not move to San Jose. OURS NOT YOURS

"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

Going against the flow here...

I’d love for the A’s to move to San Jose. There just isn’t enough baseball in the area, even with 162 Giants games. Anything that keeps them in the area would be great, and the A’s moving to a new stadium close to public transport would be icing on the cake.

Anyway San Jose was given to the Giants by the Walter Haas for free when we were looking for a stadium. I don’t see why Bud wouldn’t just yank the T-Rights back if he was convinced that a San Jose stadium would revitalize the franchise and bring in a bigger profit for the MLB.

Barry Zito - Mildly half-OK! Sometimes.

Uh, wouldn’t schedule overlap preclude watching both teams in person most of the time? And if that’s the case, doesn’t it make it fairly irrelevant where the 2nd team is located?

I am a San Francisco elitist so as far as I’m concerned the A’s can have San Jose.
