I like how he says
that he can help mentor Tim.
It’s not like Tim won the Cy Young last year or anything.
Mischievously implosive purple pitching staff.

If Randy commented like that here he'd get SO shredded.
Big Units of text an’ all that.

Paragraphs, Randy.
Okay, maybe it’s not his fault
"he walked 18; new league record! Struck out 18, another new league record! He also hit the sportswriter, the PA announcer, the bull mascot twice..."

Lowell Cohn
Is an asshat… I live in Sonoma County where he writes, and I think he is a grade A douche bag. He never has a positive outlook about anything, and is far too critical of everything (oh except Stanford, where he apparently went, he slurps the school frequently). I dislike him intensely and believe maybe if one out of every thirty five or so articles could have a semi uplifting message for bay area sports fans he might not be stuck writing in Sonoma County. I picture him as a five foot tall, 130 lb. nerd who always wanted to play sports but couldn’t and has become hyper-critical because of that fact.

Lowell wrote an article once in the Chronicle
sometime in 1986 or so about how he was glad that he was never an athlete because athletes had to stay away from girls/fun stuff to focus on their sport. I’m not kidding; he actually said that. He was also universally hated around 49ers training camp and the paper had to remove him from the situation as so many players wanted to beat him up. Furthermore, the dirty bastage wrote a nasty article about Will Clark being a hot dog mid year and my mom read it and instead of getting me Thrill’s autograph she chose Krukow instead (she met someone in the front office somewhere). He and Tim Kawakami are the two worst writers in the bay area (Glenn Dickey is retired, isn’t he?). It really is saddening that so many decent writers have lost their job lately because nobody is reading print newspapers anymore but yet jackasses like Lowell and Tim keep their jobs.

I couldn't agree more
The interesting thing is that his articles are not only poorly written about shitty topics, they are also never informative. During football season every article is about how OLD Al Davis is. We get it… come up with something new… I had never heard about the 49ers dislike for him, but I think at some point during this football season somebody from the Raiders staff tried to kick his ass during a press conference.

I agree with both of you
Cohn clearly has an over inflated ego, which is evident in everything he writes. Kawakami is the worst though. Fact checking is not in vocabulary.

this
"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.
