This actually works out really well for us if he does the surgery.
1. He wouldn’t join our rivals this year when we have very little chance to sign him.
2. Next year, we could possibly take some of the RJ money and take a shot at him. If he returned to form on a recover value contract, that could be damn awesome in our rotation.
Exactly
This means the Dodgers won’t get a shot at him – which means their rotation is looking very sketchy.

In light of recent developments...
The Dodgers signed Sheets to a no questions asked 3 year 35 million dollar deal. Can be worth 45 Million in incentives if certain time periods on the DL are met.
