Teaser trailer for MLB 2K9
Pretty damn dead-on with Lincecum's delivery.
Not so much on Reyes' stats on the Jumbotron.

Meh
I want to see gameplay footage. Also why isn’t the friggin’ cover athlete pitching at home? Nice of them to show the SF area code at the end though.

I would guess that they wanted to show off the new stadium for the Mets in their teaser.
And yeah, I wanted to see gameplay footage.

Well, it gets him in the away uniform, with his name and city on it.

I’m looking forward to the new Show, I doubt I’ll pick up 2K9.

I’m still holding out hope for this game because I’ve been a fan of 2K Sports since its Dreamcast days, although it’s not the plucky underdog it once was. Also, I don’t have a PS3, so that makes the decision easy.

I was really disappointed with 2K8 which wasn’t all that different from 2K7 — new pitching mechanic aside.

Yeah, I agree with you. Each consecutive game since ESPN Baseball 2K5 has been baby steps, rather than leaps they should have made. Even the commentary in 2K8 is the same from 2K5, just with new names added. Supposedly, they’ve gone back and rebuilt the game (or so I’ve been told…) so hopefully 2K9 will be a lot better. Exclusive licensing sucks. :/

Exclusive licensing sucks.
This, this, a thousand times this.

I don’t think I’ve picked up a baseball game since All-Star Baseball in the N64 days.
I just don’t find a great thrill in baseball video games. I loved Bases Loaded on the NES and Tommy Lasagna Baseball on the Genesis. Beyond that, the games are really hit and miss…to borrow a pun.
Like what is mentioned, the wallet can only take so many roster updates a year at $50-60 a shot. If anyone made a MLB-type “NFL Blitz” with a old time roster, spiked cleats, spit balls and all…I’d be the first to pre-order!
it's always noonan somewhere

Video game baseball
for me begins and ends with Bases Loaded on the NES. Paste was a frickin’ animal.

That’s because Bay was protecting him in the order.
Don't think, it could only hurt the ballclub.

Of all the big three American sports, I think the NBA handles its media the best. Instead of fighting with YouTube, they created their own NBA channel for highlights and behind the scenes video. They also keep their license for video games available to different companies. Competition breeds better quality, so having more video games based on your properties is a good thing.

When did the old MLB guy come onboard? 2K7? I remember being somewhat excited by that, but I didn’t pick up 2K8. Will probably get 2K9, though.

they got his delivery down almost perfect
I still like MLB The Show’s graphics better, though. And PS those are Reyes’ career numbers not single season.

Oh, OK. Because those were some very MVP-Baseball-on-Easy stats.

Citi Field looks so darn boring...
Whatever happened to the new ballparks having some personality?

Seriously! The new Twins park looks plain and boring, so does the proposed Fremont park. Same with the Marlins new stadium. The only new ballpark that looked even remotely cool was the proposed Ray’s park that I believe was shot down.

haven't played the mlb 2k series
actually I haven’t played a baseball game since MVP ‘05, but the NBA 2k series is awesome, so why can’t they do the same with baseball?

Did anybody else have that baseball game for the Sega Genesis with Swift on the front? It may have been Burkett, can’t quite remember.

I did...I still remember dominated with the two of them. I was in 3rd grade, I think.

I liked how un-energetic Thorne was on the HR call.
