Dang. I have to go to my mom’s and help make cake and spinach dip for a birthday party.

Frown.

I messed up and grabbed the Knorr French onion soup instead of the vegetable soup mix. It actually tastes really good in the dip.

There’s cake and boxes and spinach dip, oh my!

Actually I got the cake going and made the dip quickly and then fled. For some reason, my mom’s boyfriend lets his grown son and the son’s girlfriend live there despite neither actually contributing anything in rent or help around the house. The girlfriend is dumb as a fucking rock. Listening to her talk makes me feel like my brain cells are dying.

I made it back just in time!

Alton Brown’s “Good Eat’s” web page that accompanies his Food Network show, has some how to make dips from scratch that are pretty tasty. I also learned that onion dip, was called “California dip” once upon a time. Made up a huge batch (w/ double the onions) for the Superbowl this year.
