Giants managing partner Bill Neukom spoke to reporters, including the San Jose Mercury News’ Andrew Baggarly, on Friday morning. He left open the possibility of his club making a late run at Ramirez. Neukom also believes there are teams involved other than the Dodgers and Giants:

"We’ve been in touch with Manny and his agent for months about this," Neukom said. "We’ve explored a number of situations. I think by far the Dodgers have been more active. Then there are these other teams Boras has talked about. We’re not a phantom team. There are other teams that haven’t been named that are in this. So we’ll see."

Lineup

LF Velez
SS Renteria
1B Aurilia
C Molina
RF Bowker
DH Phelps
3B Uribe
2B Burriss
CF Torres

What a piss poor lineup. Is it split squad or something?

Also, I got a Stubby Clapp reference onto the show as the Question of the Week last week (or maybe the week before, I don’t remember). So it has that going for it.

Natto, do the sizes run big/small/normal?

I saw a blurb on MLB.com that says Shane Victorino is taking Grady Sizemore’s place on the USA roster for the WBC. This is not a favorable outcome.

"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

OT - from will carroll's article today

Boof Bonser
If you’re one of those folks who’ve been wondering when Boof will arrive, you’re going to have a very long wait. After failing to establish himself over the past two seasons, and then seeing an influx of homegrown pitching talent flood into Minneapolis, Bonser now has to deal with a lost year. Doctors went in for a look at his sore shoulder and found extensive damage, including a torn rotator cuff and a severely torn labrum. He was on the edge, looking to be the swingman in the Minnesota pitching staff, but now he’ll spend the entire season on the DL. There are some whispers that Bonser did the damage late last year as he was trying to pitch through a back injury. If that’s the case, it would be a big strike against the Twins’ medical staff and field staff.

Pedro Feliz would look great in Dodger Blue.
