OT: Eastbound & Down
Do yourself a favor and watch this show. It's about an asshole washed up ex-closer (he briefly plays for "San Francisco") who takes a job as a middle school gym coach in his hometown.
This is the greatest show to emerge from the depths of TV Hell since Wings!

Boo for it being on HBO.

HBO beats Showtime.

Soprano: good for three seasons
Ali G show awesome…but was really a BBC program
All the other ones are pretty lame, the wire was OK. and Big Love SUCKS!
Dexter is by far the best show going right now, with Weeds at 2nd or 3rd. Depends on how EBD develops.

The Wire was just okay? Dexter must be really good.

Dexter is ridiculously good, probably the best show on TV by a good margin.

I dont mind alot of these HBO shows. It just that they are not must sees, unlike Weeds and Dexter when I get pissed off when the season ends. By the time the Sopranos eneded I was happy. The wire I never got interested in andand Da Ali G show are both better on the on their original channel BBC. Extras is really a BBC show too.

7 of the 10 shows you list are no longer on, and one hasn’t been on in two years. That’s kind of like saying “What do you mean the Giants suck? Bonds? Mays? McCovey? Cepeda? Marichal? Will Clark? Lincecum? Jeff Kent? Matt Wiliams? The Giants are awesome!”

I completely agree with that statement and would use it freely in pretty much any conversation, even one not related to the Giants.

there’s really not much to get really, it’s just a cable channel that tries hard to come up with original, edgy programming…oh, you mean you don’t GET it. Nevermind.

yeah, I love the show. Don’t forget that Will Ferrell is the executive producer and even made an appearance on the second show. The character’s such a jerk that you don’t know whether to hate him or feel sorry for him.

I want to see this but I don’t have HBO. Staying OT, I got The Wire box series last week — on sale at Amazon for a pretty good price — and I just finished Season 2 last night. Holy-freaking-crap is this show really good. I’d always heard great things about it, but the first two seasons have totally sucked me in. I’m going to start Season 3 tonight. I can already tell I’m going to be bummed when I finish all the seasons.
I am going to give the wire another shot

What didn’t you like about it? I think as a TV show it has some of the best, well rounded characters that I’ve ever seen. The way they tie them all together is pretty amazing.
I just wasn’t into it at the time (college). Its like when your circuits fry, you can’t compute anything right

I’m guessing it’s not legal, but maybe we’ll learn something new. I don’t have time to download torrents or cruise WAREZ OMGZ websites.
All the good torrent sites are basically gone anyway.

If you are looking for a legal way to watch all these shows, well there isn’t really one single place that allows you to do that. Sites like Hulu and Casttv (see fanshot link above) have full episodes of shows but usually charge like $1.99 for them, although they usually float you a free episode or two to “give you a taste” of the goods.

I’ll have to do some looking. I’m moving tomorrow and things are a freaking mess. Once I get settled in, I want to find this show because it sounds good.

So, the show gets better as it goes along? I thought Season 1 was pretty awesome and it took me a bit to warm up to Season 2, but by half way through I was really digging it.
I agree. I thought Season 2 was the worst (but still great), and Season 4 still managed to blow me away (I thought it couldn’t get any better, but it did).

The Wire and Dexter are good
but I have yet to see any love for Wings!?!?!
Seriously, if anyone out there loves Wings, we should hang out as that is pretty much my only prerequisite for friendship.

I like Wings, but I like Cheers better.

Sleeper Cell
was excellent show on Showtime
The first season of “Sex in the city” was good as the opening act to the “Sopranos”
The Beast
Anyone here like it, I think its horrible but…my wife thinks Swayze is hot so I am forced to watch it sometimes.

Why are all women so “Cwazy for Swayze”? Roadhouse is the only good thing he has ever been in.

it’s probably more his looks than the quality of his work. What woman didn’t love him in “Ghost?”
