Well it’s blocked at school. I wonder why?
I wish I could explain to the filter that I just read it for the articles! Honest!
Barry Zito - Mildly half-OK! Sometimes.
ditto the air force controlled internet in qatar.
but these are the same chodes that had wikipedia blocked the first time i was out here. so i’m sure they’ll come around and realize playboy is a beacon of journalistic integrity that has nothing to do with pornography.
Brian Sabean figures that if he buys enough bottles, one of them is bound to have lightning in it.
Wow I never knew playboy did real writing
There was some pretty revealing stuff here (if true) and I was most surprised about the true effects of the cream and the clear. Good read! Bue terrible mural!
my cousin and i got noah lowry's autograph after he came out of a porta-potty. he was nice about it.
They've done real writing for years.
If you can get past the unabashedly airbrushed vacuosities it’s a pretty classy mag.
Somewhere between Maxim and Harper’s.

Gay porn at work? Think of the children!

When my wife started at her first professional job, her computer hadn’t been cleaned up from the last person to use that office, and its web browser had dozens and dozens of gay porn sites bookmarked. Plus the email client had lots of saved correspondence arguing with said sites over billing issues.

Wow!
Incredible article, I just was hearing about this piece on KNBR streaming earlier today.
Impressive that someone in the media is standing up for Bonds. I commend Jonathan Littman!

Littman has been doing some incredible work at Yahoo! reporting on the trial, etc.

Playboy’s piece in 2004 was the best thing I have read about the Bonds case yet (I just printed this one and will read it later)

It’s been two-and-a-half years since I mentioned this, so here goes again…
When I had a fake stomachache in middle school and wanted to go home, I’d have to ask the receptionist at the front desk to call my mom. The receptionist … was Novitsky’s mom.

I can go one better than that......

a criticism
The thinly-veiled accusations of racism strike me as very unfair. As someone who also grew up on the Peninsula with both Novitzky and Bonds, I wouldn’t be suprised if indeed there may be some craving for the spotlight on Jeff’s part, but nothing beyond that. The author is trying to inject extra drama where it isn’t needed. The facts he includes concerning the legal and procedural problems with the case are interesting enough for those of us interested in the story—dropping in some racist allegations makes it seem as though he doesn’t trust his material and feels the need to add intrigue (and maybe a few more readers who otherwise wouldn’t read it otherwise). Besides, if it’s added intrigue he wants, why not explore the ‘need for attention’ angle? Bonds grew up with a tremendous gift that many people feel he took for granted, and to have someone on his case (so to speak) who felt as though he just missed living the kind of dream Barry ended up living is a very compelling storyline.
