Depending on who you want to see, you might want to hurry. Some of these guys are slated to move up fast. This team is loaded unlike any I can ever recall.

That is awesome. Also, Lewis batting third instead of behind Molina = good idea.

This is what you need to know
Club officials are planning to send all five of the Giants’ top-rated prospects, and six of the top seven, to begin the season at Class A San Jose. The list includes pitchers Madison Bumgarner and Tim Alderson, catcher Buster Posey, first baseman Angel Villalona and second baseman Nick Noonan. Other members of last year’s strong draft class are expected to join Posey in San Jose, including third baseman Conor Gillaspie, right fielder Roger Kieschnick and shortstop Brandon Crawford.

I was going to put this in the Minor Leaugue roster surprise fanpost..
But when I talked to Crawford, he said he expects to be in San Jose after the way he hit in the Winter.

We’re gonna be busy at SF Dugout in April and May.

Even Alderson. haha. Minor League super squad!
Adoptive Parent of Francisco Peguero. He can throw, he can run, he can hit(fastballs), and he's Dominican. What else do you need to know?

wow, this is awesome
It might be a good idea to catch an early game because before too long (like maybe when the weather gets warmer) some of these guys may be in Connecticut.

San Jose goes undefeated and gets promoted to major leagues like English Soccer relegation. San Diego loses 136 games beating the all-time worst MLB record set by the Spiders in 1899.

Though, i’m not sure why the cold weather would affect Alderson.
It seems like the front office was like “fuck it, their going to be on the same team someday anyway, so lets lay waste to the cal league a bit”
(on a serious point: since the team itself has been making an effort to hype these prospects to the season ticket holders, and otherwise devoted fans, this should be seen in something of a marketing light, i suspect)

They’d better get used to pitching in cold weather if they’re being rushed through the system.

Hurry Hurry Step Right Up
McC Nite at the yard. Be there!
Glad to hear Bumgarner and Noonan will begin the season at SJ. No need to rush. Will be interesting to see how prospects Crawford, and Kieschnick will handle SJ. Would also expect to see Quirarte in SJ.
Where will Jackson WIlliams begin his season?
Glad to see Sabean and Bochy finally coming to their senses by flipping Lewis and Sandoval in the batting order. If Sandoval gets off to a solid start maybe he could hit cleanup and BMoney hit fifth.

Do they use a 5-man rotation??
I’d like to figure out when Bumgardner’s and Alderson’s second starts are. I’m going to assume that Opening Night will be pretty packed.

Ya
I wonder if they’ll give the opening day nod to MadBum or TimA. It’s gotta be one of those two. Does MadBum get it for being the top prospect in the system or does TimA go, because he’s sort of the elder statesman?

Chemistry
Imagine how much chemistry is gonna be created when they go up the system together. This team is gonna be GREAT!
by monta101 on Feb 21, 2009 10:17 AM PST reply actions 0 recs
This is the core of the future, it is a great idea to keep them together as much as possible on the way up. It will not be constant, but it this is what Neukom talked about playing the Giants way. Sort of like the A’s had going a few years ago with all their minor league guys with an organizational philosphy.

It is a very interesting decision. And what message does it send to those prospects that will begin the season in the cold at Connecticut ? The good prospects we are going to pamper you while you others freeze your ass in the northeast. Thank God it is warm in San Francisco.
