Who the hell is Dan Ortmeier, Colorado Rockie?
Did I miss something? Did we ever discuss the fact that Ortmeier is now a member of the Rockies? I did a search and found nothing.

Remember when he was going to be our first baseman?
Good times.

I don’t actually remember who Dan Ortmeier is.

I’d almost feel bad for that guy if I had any idea who he was.

I believe it was a brief mention in a Baggarly post. The focus of the thread was definitely not on Ortmeier, however.

He lives?
and here I thought he was still boxed up in the attic of AT&T Park.

I made an off-hand comment once in a thread talking about the Rockies
Something like “Nah, the Rockies got Ortmeier so they don’t need another power bat” or something like that.
Aaron King is still my homeboy... iffy mechanics and all

I missed that too.
"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

Ort
I always thought he got a bit jerked around by us. He won’t be a star but I would not be at all surprised to see him emerge as a solid fourth outfielder for the Rockies.

meh
I’ll add him to the list of players the Giants cast aside who at first seemed as if they hadn’t been given a fair shot, but later turned out to be nothing.

In stark contrast to the list of Giants cast aside who at first seemed as if they had been given plenty shots and later turned out to be nothing.
Both lists dwarf the “players who panned out” list..

Can’t he play CF?
I could see him being handy on a team not glutted with 4th outfielders.
I'm spent, just can't rosterbate anymore.

I would think so. Dude’s a pretty good athlete and can cover some ground.

My son :( Now who do I get.
So sad. Godspeed, my boy.
Tentatively adopting Dan Ortmeier. And Boom Goes the Dynamite.
