I know most of us have thought of the Adrian Beltre idea, but how about Alex Gorden? His career is on the rise and I'm sure that the Royals wont want much for him. What do u think?

Yeah they would. He was supposed to be the cornerstone of their franchise and they’re hoping he still might be. He had a decent season in 08 and missed most of 09 with an injury. Why would they trade him?

The very bad man traded my son...So now I'd like you all to meet my new son, Ryan "Aaron" Garko...Dammit it's just not the same!

Where do you get the idea that they won’t want much for him?

If I am not mistaken, Gordon was the #1 prospect in baseball as recently as 2007, according to Baseball Prospectus. Nothing has happened that would cause the Royals to give up on his prospects. It would take a lot to get him IMO.

If I guy’s career is on the rise, why wouldn’t it cost much to get him? That makes no sense.

I think the Royals said somewhere

They want someone that is cost controlled until 2014 just to open talks about Gordon.
