Will the sum of Benjie's OBP's over this contract be greater than Bonds' record .609? Will his OPS in 2010 top that number?

I’m absolutely convinced that he would have asked for $10M, and the Giants would have offered $8M, and then some jackass arbitrator would have gone goofy for ribeyes.
Seriously, if the Mets are offering 2/12, why wouldn’t you go 1/8 or 1/10 with your current team, and see if you can’t make up the difference next year?

He’ll probably be acceptable for the Mets but I don’t see how you can justify giving him that kind of money though.
I can’t help but be amused at the comments about them improving their pitching by getting better catchers.
Proud parent of Waldis Joaquin!
HE CALLS A GOOD GAME WHICH SCIENCE HAS PROVE TO MAKE PITCHERS TWO TO THREE TIMES MORE BETTER SO WHY DON’T YOU SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY!

Eh, on second thought I’m getting pretty tired of all caps. Time to put that schtick away for a few months.

ST will be a appropriate time.
You could make the ALL CAPS SCHTICK only acceptable between ST and the WS. Kinda like wearing white nad those two dates.

I think the problem with me and ALL CAPS was really that it was becoming more about things being all capitalized and less about things actually being worth saying. I mean, just look at what I wrote above here. It’s not actually funny. It’s awkward. It’s long. It’s stupid. Really, the only thing it has going for it is that every letter is big.
It’s like Ross from every episode of Friends that happened after season 2.
That’s how you know it’s time to hang up a schtick. When you can legitimately compare it to Ross from Friends seasons 3 – 10.

That’s what she said.
I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.

And I tweet (more often than I blarg).
I’m so ready to rub this in the faces of all the Mets fans in my office. It won’t quite be payback for all the Benitez stuff I endured, but it’ll at least be something.
i dont think he will be seen as awful by mets fans because he wont be anywhere near the 4 spot in the order. we all thought of him as an average 6 or 7 hitter and thats probably what he will be, at least for a year. i have a feeling he will be a lot more valuable to them than he was to us

Problem.
His only redeeming quality as a catcher is his 20 HR power. That becomes like, 6 HR power in that park. He could feasibly post an OPS in the 600’s.
"…this thing which tells time."
It’s an interesting point. If he consistently knocks in runs from the 6th or 7th hole, it may be enough to keep Mets fans happy. But they will assuredly keep an eye on HR production compared to previous years…

He won’t.

I'm not a Molina supporter, and RBIs aren't the best way to judge a player's ability, but
Just curious as to what you’re basing this on? I’d need to go back and look at OBP of (projected) Mets hitters, but would he be at the plate with runners in scoring position more or less frequently than he has the last few years? Will his average continue to plummet and cause him to not take advantage of these opportunities? Has his tube of Magic Clutchiness Gel™ run out?
His tube of magic clutchiness gel ran out last year, actually. He batted in front of a guy who hit .330 and who was on base 39% of the time.
I’m not sure what the Mets lineup will give him next year, but he’s a bad hitter. And he’s getting worse. And those players don’t knock in runs from the bottom of the lineup.

I see the first line is an unfinished thought. I think I’ll leave it that way.
