Breaking News: Giants Offense was Horrible
Breaking news:
In 2009 Giants were a Major League-best 76-25 when they score three runs or more or as I like to say we were 12-49 when our team was so inept that we couldn't score more than 2 runs per game. Trade the entire farm system, the coca cola slide, the cable car, and Freddy Lewis...I dont care how we do it get some freakin gamers...errr....hitters.
Basically there is no point to this post except to point out what everyone already knows and that we only won 12 out of 61 games which proves how well our pitching did and how poorly our offense did last year.

You need to open your wallet some day if you want to win, Neuks.
Desirous of Matt Holliday and Dan Uggla since 2009.
So you’re saying the offense and Fred Lewis are the problem?
STEVE HOLM! refuses to be the odd man out.

It was at this point that you should have realized there was no reason to hit the publish button.
Juan Carlos Perez, please start hitting.

Is it OK if I use Marv Albert’s voice when I internally vocalize this?
Utter frustration and futility.

i'm still not really sure how important these kinds of stats are...
what’s the record for all clubs that score when they score at least 3 runs?
We need Veruca in this fanpost, stat.

Holy Crap!!
I had no idea. Thanks for filling me in.
No, really, I have updated my blog this year: http://skaldheim.livejournal.com/tag/baseball
they tossed a whole bunch of shutouts and 1 run games
If they would have saved their 2 runs scored games to just those games, their record when just scoring two runs would have been a lot better. The nerve to shut another team out and win via blowout. Timing is almost everything. They did toss a heck of a lot of shutouts and 1 run games, part of the issue is in which games are they scoring their big run outputs? Obviously not always the games that they need to. This is almost every teams story, most years. If a team has especially good timing in this regard, they should play way over their heads and beat pythagorus hands down.
every guy should bunt for the first 3 innings to tire out the pitcher.
We're all basically Pedro Feliz.
This is what I would have done to Randy Johnson when he was both unhittable and having back problems.
Utter frustration and futility.

There were a good amount of veterans on the team too
That’s got to count for something in the clubhouse. I would say it’s even more important than offensive talent.
Hey, I’m just counting “outfield position rosterbation” fanposts!
One mention of FLew in an offhand manner doesn’t qualify. Someone else can count “D’oh! posts.”
WAINWRITE WUZ ROBD
cards offense wuz worse than giants with big bengie the ribeye man
... null, void, invalid, iniquitous, unjust, damnable, reprobate, inane, empty of meaning and effect for all time
So I calculated it out….if everyone else on the offense pulled their weight like Bengie, the Giants would have scored 720 runs. 80 rbi’s * 9 lineup spots = 720. And yes, pitchers would have driven in 80 runs, too. Let’s be honest here, Bengie hits like a pitcher but still managed to do it, so I see no reason they shouldn’t be expected to be clutch RBI men in Bengie’s mold. That’s 63 more runs on the season. Clearly, we need MORE Bengie Molina.

VVVVVVVVRRRRRROOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM
Petey and Fresh always dunking on Spartans,
Biscuits in baskets from Heatley and Thornton,
Bam-Bam and Gore on the way to some rings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
I don’t think the issue is how well the Giants did when they scored two runs or fewer. Given the excellence of their pitching, I wouold doubt that a 12-49 record in such games is particularly bad.
But scoring two runs or fewer in 61 out ot 162 games IS poor.
this just in...
this is just out
