He seems to think they are pursuing a 1B. I hope hes right.
I didn’t hear the conference call; was busy talking to Bobby Evans, the Giants’ VP of baseball ops, about the impact of the DeRosa signing. To my surprise, he said it doesn’t mean Sandoval will be locked in at first base — even if Uribe re-signs (which he did nothing to dispel). In fact, he said he expects Panda to play third “quite a bit” in 2010. Makes me think they’re still looking at first-base options.
