GameDay Thread: Game 6

It's on the MLB network right now, 3nd inning.

I'm watching it for the first time since 2002, so join me! Lets have some fun.

This could be highly enjoyable or a complete flop, but I'd be happy to talk to myself. Come on, the best way to get over a problem is to talk about it. Watch Barry and Aurilia and JT and everyone in their prime. It'll be cathartic.

To be fair, Lofton threw a big fit about not wanting to be DH.

+1, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000...

His transition at the plate from ’01 to ’02 – from home run hitter to base hitter was, for me, the true measure of a man in possession of awesome skill.

612 PA. 47 strikeouts.

Awesome ratio in itself – then consider that it’s a reduction of 46 from the previous year.

If. as a pitcher you bested Bonds that year you were indeed an ace.
He was on a mission, had refocused and was successful as no one else at it.

Of course many realized that, and the IBBs really started skyrocketing that year…dammit…

Sadly I missed most of that game at the time

I had went to get my glasses that day and they put some stuff in my eye that made me very sleepy so I took a nap while the game started. I woke up and it was 5-0 Giants so I thought it was over, finalized, done, put a fork in it. Basically, I watched the bitter end and prayed that Livan would come through in Game 7 but AWAK aliens invaded Anaheim that day so we may never know what would have happened.

To this day, I still have not watched any game of that series again and probably won’t until the Giants bring home that shiny looking object with flags on it — then I can laugh heartily at that 2002 team.

Win the inning.
