"With Adrian Gonzalez on the block making $4.75 million in 2010 and $5.5 million in 2011, why isn't he on Sabean's radar? The guy's a Giant killer and hits more than 30 home runs a year. Sounds like a blue-light special for the taking. What am I missing? Pablo Sandoval at third base, Gonzalez at first ... How simple is this? Throw in the balldude -- whatever it takes.

Everyone is Christmas shopping for the best fit on the current roster. This is the wrong approach (!!!!). The Giants should be looking at Los Angeles and Colorado and deciding what it will take to beat these guys.

My brothers wife died in Afghanistan defending our constitution. I also believe in freedom of speech and the rights of everyone expressing their beliefs. I enjoy the banter of Sabean bashers and defenders, listening to the whiners wine, the bashers bash and the praisers praise continuously. I even got ripped from Lucy last week when I thought I corrected her and took it with a smile and a joke. I thought this was a cool sight until now I am appalled that someone hijacked a users name to discredit someone who has the same right as anyone else to express their feelings. If anyone doesn’t agree with me please move to Iran and see the difference. Sorry to get personal.

Last July, the Baltimore Orioles got two Minor Leaguers (including right-hander Steven Johnson, whom the Giants selected in the Rule 5 Draft) for George Sherrill, another top left-handed setup reliever. The dynamics of trades are strange. Premier players frequently don’t fetch what they’re worth.
You’re right Chris. Josh Bell isn’t one of the top 3B prospects in the game. Not as bad as the last mailbag where he scoffed at UZR and called the questioner an idiot, but still.
