Maybe by aggressive they mean he is eying their girl or something.

If he was 5 years younger and always hit like he did in 2008, this would be a good idea!

Hey, that works for Xavier Nady, too.

I’ve got a feeling that DeRosa is going to be a FA landmine.

MARK my words, this offseason will make us want to DYE.

Mr. Neukom, is Jermaine goal to win a World Series or not?

If you can get 3:2 on a headline of "Giants Pitcher Assaults General Manager" at some point this year, take it.

Funny the way Rosenthal said the Giants are the aggressive team, yet he somehow managed to spend almost the whole story talking about the Yankees.

Not as sad as last year!

Winn
Renteria
Lewis
Molina
Sandoval
Ishikawa
Rowand
Burriss

With the exception of Sanchez being far better than Burriss… is the proposed 2010 lineup really an improvement?

Well about Winn

I think we figured him for better at the start of the year than it turned out. His career OPS is 760 and his OPS+ the previous two years was over 100. Then he got done and Winn starting lineup 2010 is unthinkable now.

Four high school players would probably be less frustrating that watching Winn, Renteria, Lewis, and Molina for another year

The Cubs and Giants were among the teams interested in Rafael Betancourt before the Rockies offered him salary arbitration on Tuesday, multiple major league sources told FOXSports.com.

by FluLikeSymptoms on Dec 2, 2009 9:06 PM PST reply actions

Urgh, not thanks. All these rumoured infield signings can’t help but lead you to an inevitable conclusion. SIGN A 1B!

I mean, seriously, we’re a side that’s in need of offense. We have the best offensive position open. There are a number of 1B on the market who should be reasonably priced. Why on earth would you try and sign 2B, who are much worse hitters, instead? It’s amazing that a GM of so many years ca have such a complete blindspot to one position.

It sounds like from the rumors at least that the Giants are dead set on Panda moving to 1b and sliding Sanchez to 3rd. Just what it seems like to me

Yeah it does seem that way and it’s an incredibly dumb thing for them to do, unless they want us to be an even worse offensive team.

To demonstrate how pointless signing DeRosa would be:

Garko is projected to be worth around 10 runs more offensively than DeRosa. De Rosa is a few runs worse defensively than Garko (at their respective positions). That means to even break even and have DeRosa equally valuable to Garko, Sandoval would have to be a +10 1B. In other words signing DeRosa would make the team worse unless Sandoval is by far the best defensive 1B ever.

“Sandoval is probably a better long-term fit at first base”

I’d like to see if a slimmer Pablo can improve at third base before we move him. He wasn’t half bad last year, imo.
