Yankees move on to DeRosa
From mlbtraderumors.com. Good? Bad? I say meh... What scares me is the last paragraph.

Good, lets hope they go ahead and sign him. To be honest that’s the kind of situation that makes sense for DeRosa, as an overpaid utility player on a big budget team. Certainly more sense than as the starting 1B on a team that’s supposed to be improving their offense.
Proud parent of Waldis Joaquin!
Sick 'em, Yanks, sick 'em!
Never thought I’d actually be rooting for the Yankees to sign a free agent.

...and Sabes will say...
We made what we felt was an appropriate offer and got outbid. We are not going to engage in a bidding war with the Yankees.
Why can’t we get a good GM like that? I mean in his first year on the job he’s gotten rid of almost all of their bad contracts – receiving value in return for crap and stole Cliff Lee from the Phillies. I realize that they suffered under Bavisi, but we’ve been suffering longer under Sabean. Seriously, doesn’t Karma come into play at some point? Or does the fact that we got Lincecum cancel out any/all of the positive Karma for this team?
Hector Sanchez: Underrated. Fighting body bias since the 2009 off season. I still love you, son, even if you're fat.
I can’t fault any team for not wanting Bradley. The guy’s an asshole. I know we had our greatest recent success with two a -holes named Bonds and Kent, but they were completely different kinds of jerks. On the field, there weren’t two more dedicated athletes, and they’re both hall of famers. I don’t even know if Milton Bradley cares if his team wins or loses.
No Edgar, it's not your fault, it's the fault of the idiot that plays you
Fine. But you’re forced to choose between Bradley and Carlos Silva. One is $12M of absolute suck and the other has a chance to be a powerful offensive force despite being an asshole. Not a tough decision (unless employed by the Giants).

Podsednik is still out there.

PODS!
Matt Cain: throwing complete game shutouts since 06'. No big deal.

Take my Mark… please!
I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.

I cant really argue with what Sabean is doing. If we’re able to get Damon on the cheap that would be pretty good. A legit leadoff hitter wouldn’t be too bad. prays we can get him on an Abreu type deal. 1 year of Damon at 5 mill plus incentives would be good no?
I'd be fine with that deal
And the fact that Sabean is sitting on his hands, while frustrating, is the sensible route, especially since we don’t know how much Timmy is going to be making. Not doing anything until after the arb hearings would be waiting too long, but he can’t make an early, big signing when Tim’s salary is so up in the air.
I'd be finer with it if Damon were really, really cheap.
And we also got Garko back.

Yes, please.
