Johnson was in Baltimore after being in the Dodgers system and coming over as part of the George Sherrill deal. Saw him throw a few times, and while nothing really stood out, he was solid and unspectacular.
Maybe the Giants have a pipe dream with him as the 5th starter? I’d think bullpen arm, but if he breaks camp with the team, I’d be pretty surprised.

Sickels has him rated 12th in his recent Top 20 for Baltimore. Says he is a possible #4 starter. It sounds to me that he would compete with Joe Martinez and Kevin Pucetas for the 5th spot in the rotation in spring training if we don’t sign a 5th starter.
We also lost Brian Horwitz and gained Jake Stevens in the AAA phase.
I doubt Johnson will make the team but when you’re drafting that late you’re more likely to be choosing someone you want to have a look more closely at than any expectation that they’ll last all year.
Would imagine that there’s a good chance we see Snyder back as whilst he may break camp with the Rangers it’ll be tough for him to last all year in that ballpark.
None of those selected in the minor league phase are of much consequence but then it’s more often just a case of adding minor league filler.

Jake Stevens looks like he’s likely to be organizational filler to be honest. He’s a LHP who has moved to the bullpen but he doesn’t seem to have particularly good K rates or BB rates.

Who is Raul Burgos? I actually follow the Giants minor leagues and I’ve never even heard of him.
Still the loving, adoptive father of Hector Sanchez. And who doesn't love switch-hitting catchers with power and patience?
Nondescript reliever in the AZL. I don’t really know anything more than that about him.
