"All I know is right now, you comeback and do you dwell on that? I think you're man enough to take it, you're man enough to chew on it, to spit it out and you learn from it. ... I think winners let it go. I think losers dwell on it and talk about it all week and that screws you up for the next opportunity going forward." - Mike Singletary after the 49ers loss to the Vikings

Feliz couldn’t hit with the Giants and since going to the Phillies, his defense has declined and his power has fallen off the face of the earth. No thanks

He hit only 8 homers at home in 2009.

In a bandbox made for righthanded hitters.

WHY IS BOCOCK?!

Yeah and watch Sabean sign him to a 3 year deal.

OT: Where does the term “bandbox” come from?

Gary Darling, go DIAFF.

by The Enchanter on Nov 8, 2009 7:19 PM PST up reply actions

only thing I can find...

From Answers.com
The earliest reference I have found to a small ball park being a called a bandbox is from John Updike, who wrote in New Yorker magazine in 1960:

“Fenway Park is a little lyrical bandbox of a ballpark. Everything is painted green and seems in curiously sharp focus like the inside of an old fashioned Easter Egg. It was built in 1912 and rebuilt in 1934 and offers, as do most Boston artifacts, a compromise between man’s Euclidean determinations and nature’s beguiling irregularities.”

Also found this for for walkoff baltimore chop:

Baltimore Chop. A manner of hitting by chopping the ball into the ground immediately in front of home plate with the design of making the ball "hop" into the air, either high enough to allow the batter to reach first base before the infielder can field the ball and throw it to first base. Another goal is to chop the ball hard enough to have it ricochet over the infielders’ heads. The term is derived from the style of play of the 1894 Baltimore Orioles, who led the National league in batting by often using this style.

Matt Downs . The Kevin Frandsen of 2010 !

yea to be honest I assumed his d at positions other than 3B was a lot better. I figured he’d be a plus defender at any infield spot but uzr says otherwise.

I can’t believe they just declined their option on everyone.

Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

We had it coming.

I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.

We're all free agents

Why do San Francisco teams insist on having terrible offenses? Frank Gore and Pablo Sandoval can't do it all.

Our jokes and meme aside...

This kinda sucks…. it gives another suitor to Beltre (who is not our savior or anything but would’ve been a nice 1-year pick up)

Aaron King is still my homeboy... iffy mechanics and all

we already have a third baseman. It’s a lot easier to find a first baseman who can hit than a good offensive third baseman, although Brian Sabean doesn’t seem to be able to get it right.

No Edgar, it's not your fault, it's the fault of the idiot that plays you
