Now we know who Timmy got the drugs from. Chris Haft, shame on you!!
No Edgar, it's not your fault, it's the fault of the idiot that plays you

Giants almost surely would seek a veteran to serve as a caretaker behind the plate until Posey has sufficiently progressed.
LOL!
POSEY HAD HIS CHANCE!
WHY IS BOCOCK?!

I really don’t understand what possible benefit there could possibly be to waiting any longer than opening day to have Posey start being our starting catcher.
Gee, we have a controllable, cheap player who will immediate act as a significant improvement over Bengie Molina both offensively and defensively for almost no cash, with no reasonably concerns about pitch calling because we have a former CATCHER managing the team. LET’S GO SPEND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO KEEP THAT GUY ON THE BENCH.
Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

You are making the huge assumption that Sabean thinks that Posey would be an offensive improvement over Molina. I mean, he hit 20 home runs!

who believes Haft anyway? I’m sure the Giants’ WILL look for a veteran catcher, but I think he’ll be Posey’s backup. I’d love to see us sign Yorvit Torrealba. I read the Rockies won’t pick up his option, and will just make about a million dollar offer to him to return. He’ll look for a place he can start, but considering Bochy and Sabean’s love for veterans, he’ll probably feel he can win the job here.

the only problem with that logic is he would be absolutely correct. He would start over Posey.

He would get a chance to learn the position defensively at a professional level, but not at the pace and under the pressure of the MLB.
Utter frustration and futility.

and Winn played four and a half seasons, not three and a half
2005 (half), 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009.
