FYI, Werth is arguably has more importance to the Phillies than Howard

Yeah, I like how that’s almost an afterthought. Werth is coming off an All-Star season and reasonably priced at $7M for 2010. Why would the Phils trade him in the first place, and if so, who are we gonna trade for him without affecting the above proposed lineup?

I’m left feeling unsatisfied.

I hate Johnny Damon as much as I hate Manny Ramirez. Which is a lot. If Damon is a Giant next year I’ll be pissed.
Matt Cain: throwing complete game shutouts since 06'. No big deal.

I don’t know what that is, but I’m afraid of it.
I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.

I’m confused how not changing the infield is a good thing… I can think of one big thing that definitely needs changing. His last name starts with an “R” and ends with an “enteria.”

How about this?
Giants trade "insert setup man/closer pitcher here (could be Wilson, Affeldt or Romo) and they get one of the Phillies OF prospects either Taylor or Dominic Brown and maybe Jason Donald??

Jason Donald (who, of course, isn’t as good as that stud Kevin Frandsen) is not a member of the Phillies organization

Was this a serious idea?
Why would the Phillies do that? They get abused in that deal. They’re about to have 2/3 of a great outfield at the minimum, they just need to figure out what to do with Ibanez.
Juan Carlos Perez, please start hitting.
